Disturbed.

The Sickness: Kinda corny, but awesomely so. Dark as hell, at least when your a Christian kid who never heard anything so awesome. Love how this album sounds.

Believe: Fucking AWESOME. Just the right mix, the lryics and music contruction are epic. As mature as Disturbed ever will be.

Ten Thousand Fist: My personal favorite album. Gets a little preachy, but it all good stuff.

Indestructible: I don't really like Indestructible, it's too mainstream and pop-rocky. But it still has some good songs.

So I was looking forward to Asylum very much you see...

Asylum: Jesus, wtf is THIS. There are two OK songs on here. The rest of it is complete shit. It doesn't even seem like they were trying.
Many people still liked this one, I hated it.
The "Still haven't found" cover was an abomination to my inner Disturbed fan. Was that track supposed to be a joke? If so, it's a sick one. Don't preach to me that your some psycho on the edge of turning into a violent beast, and then cover fucking U2, wtf Damian.

Linken park, I stoped respecting them becuase they becme more nd more shit, even when they were hit they still kept going in tht direction, try to go out with some decency.
OH Yeah, what ever happened to Linkin Park?, they were pretty much the voice of a generation, good music with meaning... and suddenly they feel like a corporate band merely making music for whatever corporation is giving them money.
Linkin Park?
Voice of a generation?
BAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I liked them when I was 13 just like every other 13 year old and looking back...yeah, they had some good songs but "voice of a generation" is a serious over-statement. Hell, just look at them now. They're the guys Micheal Bay goes to whenever he wants a movie soundtrack.

None.

I listen to the music, I could care less as to what the artist does on their off time or what bad songs they've released since the song I enjoyed came out. As long as it sounds good to me, that's all that matters.

I don't understand how someone's wacky beliefs, or new songs they release, could wreck the songs that you do like.
Ditto. Disliking an act for a reason that pertains to anything other than the music itself just seems irrational, as does forsaking earlier albums that you still enjoy simply because you dissaprove of an artists later material.

Well I was able to listen to Muse and Deathcab for Cutie until they got involved with Twilight, subsequently I find Volvo's even more laughable, they fact they're "good" cars is irrelevant.

You had to meet Dave before you realized that?

First time I heard Through the Fire and the Flames from Dragonforce it sounded quite badass; nice speed and some good solo-work. But then I found a vid of them doing that same song live....
I just can't listen to any of their work anymore, knowing that it's all studio editing without any real talent from their side.
They can play live just fine. I've seen them quite a few times and they were very good, but I am aware of the YouTube videos. To each his own I suppose, but bear in mind that they do all the "studio editing" too. That's a talent in of itself.

I don't know if there's a band I've "lost respect" for, and even if I have, I won't stop listening to the music based on my opinion of the people. Even if I dislike a band's new stuff, I'll still listen to the old stuff.

You do realise he did this so he could fund getting his band PiL back together, right?

It's also why he appeared on I'm a Celebrity, Get Me out of Here, so he could fund getting the Sex Pistols back for an anniversary tour.

Metallica... It was shortly after they released that god-awful St. Anger album that I was in the mall and saw a sign at Hot Topic that said new Metallica shirts! One of the ones I saw had cartoonicatures of each of the band members on stage. Fine. Except that on stage with them was fucking Spongebob! Spongebob! Because when I think Metallica, oh yeah, I think Spongebob... So after that, I haven't gone to another concert, bought another CD or shirt, or had anything else to do with the band.

Yeah I know, using "voice of a generation" was overdoing it, but you can't deny they did pretty much "own" music and rock for 2 years, and look at them now. Like you say, Michael Bay and EA music monkeys.

I liked Guns 'n' Roses, until Axl Rose showed up on stage for a concert FOUR HOURS LATE without so much as an apology or a "We'll be out soon, has happened" message during the wait. Just four hours of uncertain mumbling from a large arena crowd.

I had this with Mindless Self Indulgence.

I was originally going to be a prat and claim that I'm above this but I was truly disappointed by them live and I did stop buying their music.

I outgrew it anyway, and that was inevitable, but while I was still enjoying their music I stopped getting any more of it.

I used to really like Marilyn Manson (despite what y'all say 'bout him) but he lost my respect when "Eat me, Drink me" was released...I just, I don't know. His lyrics were about society, religion, Politics, etc. Suddenly, he started writing depressing and sad songs.

I used to like system of the down until I heard the song science, well heard the song and actually listened to the lyrics, one of the lines is "science fails to recognize the single most potent element of human existence, letting the reigns go to the unfolding is faith" to me that sounds like they are saying, "science sucks, yay faith" and faith is one of the more retarded things that people have, so fuck em.
you got it so wrong its actually hilarious. you gave up easily the best band of the last 10 years over a misunderstanding you were at fault for. Its about the beautiful hypocrisy of religion.

I liked Metallica until load.
I liked muse till they found out what money is.
I liked slayer until i listened to a second slayer song. the intros are different but the rest is the same.(didn't like the first song much anyway.)
Oh please, they are far from the best band of the last 10 years, even when I liked them they weren't in my top 5, and I've never been one for the standard band music anyway, so that is saying something. Really all they have is a lead singer with a hell of a voice.
and more songwriting talent between them than any metal band .

and a great guitarist and back up vocalist in malakian. seriously. toxicity was the album of the decade. sure its been a pretty crap decade for music. and besides your "top 5" is your opinion, im not saying they are the best because i like them the most(and i dont) im saying it because they are by FAR the most creative band the worlds had in a while and brilliant and classy with their execution. and they kicked ass live

Being better song writers then most metal bands isn't much of a compliment.
No, the most creative band is Weird Al's band, it takes talent to do what he does, system is an pretty good band who takes a very very stupid stance in one of their songs, and that is enough for me to not like them.

Linkin Park :( Minutes to Midnight wasn't terrible on it's own merits but it was the beginning of the end. Thousand Suns sealed it off :( It's not bad in and of itself but its just not the kind of music I listen to. Sorry LP, until you guys go back to Hybrid Theory/Meteora style, I won't be there. I still listen to HT and Meteora regularly, I don't listen to MtM regularly and I haven't bought Thousand Suns at all.
Now they sound like just about every other band and have no personality.

You know I should have known that getting kicked out of Metallica (a band notorious for being full of assholes) should have given me a clue, but in person he really was a dickhead. Reminds me of how I liked Disturbed up until I saw them live when they weren't even well known or popular and how the lead singer pulled a full on primadonna act because someone decided to chuck a water bottle at him. He proceeded to stop the song and whine and complain and threaten to leave the stage if another bottle hit him (at which point the crowd boo'd the hell out of him). A comparison point for that was when I saw Marilyn Manson live and Manson got hit with a full bottle, he didn't stop the song but waited til it was over and asked the guy who chucked it to come to the stage, whereupon he chucked the bottle back at him which sparked the entire crowd to chuck bottles at the dude). That to me was classy.
