Also I recently found out I wasn't imagining things and TMNT was called Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles.

In Europe it was Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles, elsewhere it was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I'm a HUGE TMNT fan and, to be honest?
I don't mind. The Turtles have never been about developed stories, deep characters or any real quality that makes a "good movie". The Turtles have always been, to me, about bad jokes, bad jokes about ninjas, bad jokes about turtles, and some okay action. Michael Bay makes entertaining films. I LOVED Bad Boys I&II, because they were entertaining. They were stupid, they weren't all that funny, but man were they entertaining as hell to watch. That's what I want out of a Turtles movie, that's what I can expect with Bay. Hell, I don't even not mind:
I'm excited.

Bay makes action films. He makes good ACTION films. If you want a film with story and plot go somewhere else but i'm getting tired of everyone who thinks its alright to hate on anything bay does. He's good at what he does. If you don't like it don't pay to see it.

The original TMNT, the one that was nothing but gore and Splinter trained the turtles specifically to murder Shredder, was a rather deep (if not slightly morbid) story.
Those comics never made it into the main stream for a reason, and are very hard to find. The turtles that most people know today are from the first TV show, that is the incarnation that has lived on.

I hope Bay sticks to the darker side of the turtles. They have become far too campy, and even the latest digital version of the turtles was a little more camp than I could stand for.

It's just going to be two plus hours of explosions and military hardware. The TMNT will probably show up for a bit at the start, then be hidden behind some explosions and tanks. Then a helicopter will explode on Splinter's face and Megatron will have a little monologue, followed by a huge explosion with Starscream in it. Then a closeup on some dead-eyed unattractive actress's cleavage/midriff that all the thirteen year olds will drool over. Then she'll explode.

No, no, God no, no, never, no, nooo, please no, for the love of all thing turtles no. TMNT Forever was amazing, if it was the last turtle movie ever made I will die happy.
Even as producer Bay will find a way to muck it up, he alwasy does, that's what he's good at. The last live action movie wasn't all there, the CGI one from 2007 was lacking, his objective will be to copy them, but in his own twisted Michale Bay stile. In hope he hasn't seen that Coming out of their shells fiasco, or he'll probably make a sequel.

I can see this now. The camp charm of the Turtles are going to be stripped out and replaced in favour of bullshit-macho-man-big-cock heroism. The fight scenes are going to be shakeycam close up slow motions. And one of the Turtles is going to be your stereotypical equivalent of what Michael Bay thinks black people are really like.
