What's Bay's thought process? "What childhood show from the 90's shall we fuck up today Professor Walrus?"

Oh FFS...

It will barely feature the Turtles at all, it will be 3 hours of the US army kicking Shredder's Foot clan.

The American government has a secret list of people that it has declared "Allowed to kill", lets see what we can do to get Bay on this list.

Great, just great. I think I'm cursed wherein if I ask the rhetorical question, "how can my life suck just a little bit more?" Michael Bay decides to do something. Like producing Nightmare on Elm Street. Now I wish it stays with him just producing, but he can't resist the urge to ruin something from back when stuff was cool so why would he limit it there? Next he'll manage to get the rights to do a Gundam movie (original series, since it focuses the most on actual military conflict). Crap, I think I just asked the wrong rhetorical question there...

I'm sure that it's gonna be a fashion model playing Venus (why her? because fans hate her and Bay is a troll), April O'Neil portrayed by a porn star that doesn't have any acting talent whatsoever save for , and the Army is going to be important/effective in this story too (no doubt). Or worse yet: he tries to, and succeeds at, hiring writers that make this some sort of revisionist story where Shredder is the good guy and comes from some ancient ninja clan that's been contesting with turtle demons since the dawn of time, but keeps that out of all of the marketing. Or just as bad: he'll get Brian Michael Bendis to write most of the script from what he can remember of the comics, television show, and movies. Oh God! He might do all of that! I have to go vomit now.

This further cements the argument that Michael Bay is to the current moviegoer's childhood what Uwe Boll is to video games.

And blast it! Mr. Goldman: why did you have to bring Vanilla Ice into this? He didn't do anything wrong except cash in on hip-hop through whitewashing! He's paid for it enough, considering the number of people who bash him from both of the so-called "music" channels on T.V. when those channels do hip-hop/one hit wonder specials.

I'd hate you to think that I'm doing that just because I really really like The Rock, buuuut.
What the hell? How is a live action fucking movie going to ruin your franchise. Isn't it dead anyways? What, as soon as Bay releases his movie, you're going to give up on the whole series? I mean, do Star Wars fans rage about the "franchise ruination" that was the Holiday Special.
Alright, this one will probably be successful and will probably launch TMNT into a new franchise - but that won't be your franchise anymore so what do you care?

Well, I'm just happy to know Michael Bay won't be doing the Mass Effect movie...

Instead, BioWare gave it to the same guys who did The Dark Knight. Which, in my opinion, was the smartest thing they could have ever done.

A part of me actually thinks Bay might do right with a TMNT. It's the part where Nickleodeon being the studio that is giving me an ulcer. Are we going to be stopping the movie every five minutes to point out the shapes in the scenes?
I wouldn't mind seeing a TMNT directed by John Woo. Even if there are doves. Jes sayin'.

The first Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movie was released in 1990 and was a massive success.
I still need to watch that one. I need someone to volunteer to bring a DVD of it and duck tape me to my chair to watch it. Nothing kinky, unless you are female and cute.
The two subsequent sequels weren't quite as successful, but Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: The Secret of the Ooze did bring the world a great scene [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vx7dt0Wscpc] featuring Vanilla Ice.
If the only great scene in II was Vanilla Ice, you can count on me to pass.
If Bay brings Ice back, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film would be an assured success. And hey, why not cast Megan Fox as April O'Neil?
And with that, I will go commit seppuku. I will my entrails to you, Tom.

I personally want his head for this potential travesty. As for my friends they'll either be extremely angry(like me) or very excited

Aww, this is awesome ^~^! The Ninja Turtles are going back to their roots >~<! I am seriously excited to hear this news ^~^! The fact that they are gonna do it old school without all the computer animation, is just icing on the cake. I remember the first video when I was a kid, man that was like the most memorable moment ever! The second movie not so much, and the third I never saw (and from what I understand , this is a good thing), but I will always remember the first movie. I hope Michael Bay does really good with this! I liked what he did with the Transformers, as it did make sense to what I remembered from the 80's (well as far as personality with the transformers is concerned). I know that there will be a few people who don't like the rehashing of sacred childhood memories, but if this can help breath life back into what was one of the best franchises in the 80's then I am all for it.
I can't tell if you are being ironic. If you are not, pretend you are, so I don't "improve" you, like Bay improved Transformers.

With a butcher's knife.

There used to be a time when people would be happy about the things they cherished as a child getting revitalised and shared with a newer generation, so they could pass on those experiences.

Just because a reboot is coming out doesn't mean that it's going to destroy your childhood memories. It's just another way of sharing.

Then again, maybe everyone on these boards is just really high on the ASD spectrum and can't handle change? :p

I guess I think it's kind of ungrateful and immature to be reacting this way without even having seen the movie, but that's just my opinion.
