I want to play as one of the Chaos Legions with my top three choices being the Emperor's Children, the Iron Warriors and my number one pick being the Night Lords.
Is someone a fan of Storm of Iron and Soul Hunter?

My favourite Chaos Marines army is Alpha Legion, and I have 1.5k of them, with all the shoulder pads and stuff. I'd love a game as them. Stealth marine shooter. No idea how that'd work.
You forgot to add "Fulgrim" to that list good sir. :D

Well atleast with those three Legions it's a nice chance from all the Khorne followers and we can spice things up. And yes, I frakking loved Soul Hunter and Blood Reaver and can't wait for the last one in the series to come out.
Damn, I couldn't remember the name of the Emperor's Children Heresy book.

And I quite liked Soul Hunter, although there was a disturbing lack of driving plot. Hopefully in the last one Aaron brings the plot in with a sledgehammer :p I did love Helsreach by him (which has nothing to do with me having 4k of templars, honest)

But yeah, it's true, I like the subtler side of chaos. With the cultists and such. For 4k apocolypse I ally 2.5k of a mate of mine's Traitor Guard and pretend that they're my cultists. It's pretty awesome actually :p

Though for this game I could see the Iron Warriors being the main threat and attacking it to steal more tech and give a nice fat middle finger to the Imperium in the process while hijacking some tanks and the:

titan that the orks are after.

Here's what they look like:

Thats not a Titan. Its Chaos Space Marine in Terminatior Armour. A mere insect compared to an actual Titan.

I know what a Titan is, I was showing that pic to show what a Iron Warrior looks like... That's kinda why I said "Here's what they look like" meaning the Iron Warriors in general and not an actual Titan from the lore. :D

It would have been more angry had the Marine been either a Blood Angel, Dark Angel (OR THE LION HIMSELF, DAMNIT)or a Space Furr.. er I mean - Wolf :)

Anyways, I'd like a game where you get to play as either an Eversor or Callidus Imperial Assassin, that would be even angrier :D
hey hey hey, lets be fair. Not all Spaces Wolves are furries. The rest are drunken space vikings which would have not only been better box art but would also be a better Thor game then the Thor game.
lol, sorry - Dark Angel tendencies coming out there.

Who's eight feet tall, looks like a bannana, and had a similar looking gun that can take yer head off from ten kilometers that-a-way? [Points in the direction of a massive open plain]

I hope the Tau get some screen time.

Needs more Tau.

As a non-player of tabletop 40K, I can't really call myself a fan. But if I was a fan, I'd be whining about the lack of Tau. Maybe I just like the sniper mentality.

This is on my watch list, as well as my "games with actually good box art" list.

It's not so bad - except I never really thought the Space Marines were good guys. They were over-religious zealots, and their answer to an uncivilised planet was to burn everything on it.
They are. However, when you look at the other factions...

- The Forces of Chaos want to murder you and/or eat your soul.
- The Orcs are bred to kill, kill, eat, and kill some more. Then kill for good measure. After they're done killing.
- The Tyranid are a hive mind of bloodthirsty ravenous monsters that consume anything they come across.
- The Necron want to murder you eat and your soul too.
- The Eldar are xenophobes with a severe superiority complex who will kill you for not being Eldar.
- The Tau want you to join them in unity and prosperity, and will bring said unity with force. Lots of force. Fired from cannons. From orbit.

There are no good guys, just less bad.

Welcome to the 41st millennium.
You missed out the Dark Eldar. Space pirates that'll torture you and take your family prisoner. And torture them too. But, interestingly enough, they only do that because they have to, to survive.

And the Tau are such nice aliens! When the Space Marines first found them, they earmarked their planet for 'purging'. The Tau had just discovered fire. Two thousand years later, they come tanking back with those big bloody cannons that make me want to leap across the table and punch my brother in the face.

But...they're probably the only ones who could be construed as 'good'. I just don't trust the Space Marines.

Yeah.... it looks pretty bad. I'm not really sure what he's supposed to be doing there, and whatever it is it looks a little flamboyant. It?s just kind of a goofy pose.

I have an 5 armies of Praetorian's, Steel legion, Cadians, Catchans, and Moridan Iron Guardsmen that say FUCK YOU!.

You know nothing of this world. The Marines are the tip of the spear, Guard is the rest of the spear. Marines get so much attention because they are the ones GW wants to sell more and more of.
The Guard are just a wall of meat to slow them down, but they do their part.
I take offense, to that, good sir! For every Astartes out there, we have a hundred Basilisk artillery tanks, a thousand Leman Russ battle tanks, a hundred thousand Guardsmen! The Guard keeps the Imperium alive, not the Astartes.

Besides, who do you think is bravest? The guy that goes to war in power armor and armed with a mini-rocket launcher, or the guy that goes to war in a wet t-shirt and armed with a laser pointer?

The Tau are by no means good, they're just naive. They've yet to realize the sort of universe they live in, given that their FTL technology sucks. But even so they show signs of being anything but good. Unless you count concentration camps and forced sterilization indications of goodness.

Besides, even within the Tau ranks, there is dissent. Look at Commander Farsight. Their main military commander saw what the galaxy is like, and realized that for the Tau to survive, they have to give up any notion "the greater good" and just do unto others what they do to them. And for that, he's now an exile from his own race.

Also bear in mind that fluff-wise, they are, by far, the most insignificant of races, and will live only for so long as one of the other factions can't really be bothered looking at them for more than five minutes. Even the half-arsed Damocles Crusade only failed because those pesky Tyranids showed up somewhere else.

The Orks were at least honest about being murderous all the time.
True.
The Marines are like Space Nazis.
The ork/marine conflict is what 40K originated as (they were the first two box sets).
The case does look badass.

It's kinda the point. Humans have to massive dicks just to survive.

Anyway, game looks fun, looking forward to it.

I'd like to way in on some of these issues.

First of all, Imperial Guard kick interstellar face. It takes a lot of courage for them to stand up in front of all kinds of horrid monsters with just s bit of armour and a rifle. Read some of the books based off of the Guard, it shows them how they are in-universe rather than on the tabletop.

As for the Tau, while they look peaceful and nice it's been implied that the Etherals, the ruling class, exert their unquestioned authority thanks to pheromones given off that practically prevent the people from dissenting. It's also implied that they mind-control the Vespid through their helmets. There's also some theories that they enslaved some of the human's left behind after the crusade and are sterilising some of them.

In a more hilarious light they are quite naive, even trying to negotiate peace talks with the Tyranids.

Hey!

I'd love to play as the Dark Angels! And I thought the Blood Ravens were a great chapter which GW have explored further.

Why all the love for the Smurfs?
I want me some raging space vikings!
(Not furries! I´m looking at you Lenriak)

That said, bring on this game, and let it be a success, so that we can have more!
