"Chainsaw sword"?

That made me cringe.

But in all seriousness I really hope this game turns out well. Can't wait to see all the Gears of War fanboys rip at this one.

I have an 5 armies of Praetorian's, Steel legion, Cadians, Catchans, and Moridan Iron Guardsmen that say FUCK YOU!.

You know nothing of this world. The Marines are the tip of the spear, Guard is the rest of the spear. Marines get so much attention because they are the ones GW wants to sell more and more of.
Mostly cause you can gluegun more expensive bits onto a giant pastel space marine then you can a guardsman.

Grumble Grumble.... stupid ultrasmurf grumble.

That aside, looks good and the game play looks to be turning out nicely. I might have to grab this for the dust gathering Xbox.

To be honest, the description/1,2,3 is more exciting than the actual box art. It's just kind of boring and sits there for me because it appears to be trying too hard to be simply outrageous.

I dunno, maybe because the Space Marines are pretty much the paradigm for (wait for it) space marines, it's hard to get excited by Marcus Fenix with a chainsaw sword jumping at some ugly green creatures.

Still, a Warhammer 40k game that isn't an RTS has plenty of potential (I haven't been following this one, so I don't know about SM in particular).

4/10, almost had me for a moment there.

Warhams 40k is a wonderful setting, full of hate, hate, and more hate. The closest thing to good guys (Tau) let anyone join their collective, so long as they're all effectively indentured servants to the Tau. This box with its ANGRY ANGRY SMURF MARINE and the FUN-LOVING MASS-MURDERING ORKS very much follows in the vein of the endless nonsense that has come before.

Here's hoping it's at least halfway decent!
Dont forget the VERY HUNGRY TYRANIDS that just want to eat everything and not starve to death. They dont hate anything... And thats why everybody hates them. Except the orks. The orks LOVE the Nids....

The love may be mutual... Nids love to eat, Orks love to kill. More orks die, more orks come into being, more food for nids means more nids, which means more things for orks to kill.... You know, they kind of cancel eachother out when they meet on even grounds... Kinda makes sense... they seem to be the only forms of life existing beyond the galaxy.

read the Uplifting premier. AWESOME stuff very well done Imperial dogma.
But i still wish we had a game about the Guardsmen.
Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for it.

A Guardsmen game would be pretty cool. It would probably have to be like a WWII shooter or something, except that every battle is like a super-Normandy. I expect it would be big on set-pieces, but there could definitely be some smaller battles or scouting missions. Actually, such a game would probably be more approachable to mass audiences if handled properly, since you could mix a sort of Modern Warfare ((flame shield)) aesthetic with all the technology and lore of 40k without overwhelming any newcomers.
And even if you had a million NPCs at your side the factor of being a human with the lowest gear possible(still good weapon thought jut saying) fighting the worst in the galaxy.

BTW the visual of super-normandy has just put itself on my list of things to make.
For that to work your character would have to be luckier than Kais, the Tau fire warrior (AKA cannon fodder) who on his first day of combat slaughtered an entire chapter of space marines and some other stuff all by himself. He went crazy because of it, but it was still rather amazing.

OT: This game seems rather promising. I also like how that massive armor they sit somewhere inside of actually does something, if the developers promise of cover being unimportant are true. I hope it's not too focused on melee combat though. Either melee or ranged combat should be made viable in most situations.

Also, is that a tyranid I spot by the ultra marine's hand?
]

No, it's a squig, an Orkish creature that hops around and munches stuff. It's in Fantasy too, where Goblins can attempt to ride them with mixed success.

Some Orks use face paint.

This game is going to be 16.7 million shades of ass kicking glory.

I'm calling it, this game will end up being painfully mediocre and repetitive, with an unoriginal storyline.

This game really needs to good enough to put that ridiculous Gears of War bull in its place.

At least GW gives good reasons for why the Space Marines are so huge and muscular. The GoW crew are just parodies of the whole macho shooter genre.

If I didnt know what Warhammer 40k was, that picture would confuse me. It looks like it could be a fantasy game, not Sci Fi...aside from the big "SPACE MARINE" text.

I want to play as one of the Chaos Legions with my top three choices being the Emperor's Children, the Iron Warriors and my number one pick being the Night Lords.

Though for this game I could see the Iron Warriors being the main threat and attacking it to steal more tech and give a nice fat middle finger to the Imperium in the process while hijacking some tanks and the:

titan that the orks are after.

Here's what they look like:

So without the marines, the imperium is...a blunt spear. Not a weapon renowned for its efficiency.

Is someone a fan of Storm of Iron and Soul Hunter?

My favourite Chaos Marines army is Alpha Legion, and I have 1.5k of them, with all the shoulder pads and stuff. I'd love a game as them. Stealth marine shooter. No idea how that'd work.

You forgot to add "Fulgrim" to that list good sir. :D

Well atleast with those three Legions it's a nice chance from all the Khorne followers and we can spice things up. And yes, I frakking loved Soul Hunter and Blood Reaver and can't wait for the last one in the series to come out.

Orks Arn't evil they just love a good fight. And who dosn't love child soldiers trained to kill? The best thing about the setting is that no one is good.
