that's a trick question. Yes it can be improved, but I don't consider people's Mods part of the actual game, just fanbase stuff (I believe the same thing with Left 4 Dead and the Half-Life series). If Bethesda wanted to come out with an expansion (and they do usually) to improve upon the game, they can.Critical_Sneeze said:Are you honestly trying to say that Oblivion can't be improved?zehydra said:I disagree. But I should clarify, official parts of the game are what make up the game, not fan-based addons.
I know there are a couple of mods you can get for the ps3 version of UT3 and you can mod a few things in either console version of Borderlands. It's possible, just not often done and when it is done it's little things, not the super-revitalizing mods you get for Fallout 3.Low Key said:Would be cool if people could use the creation kit to make a mod, then use a USB to import it to consoles.GonzoGamer said:Yea.Low Key said:That's great to hear, though I kind of expected it to be moddable like their other games.
Will the console versions be moddable?
That would be news.
I'm sure Sony would be on board for that. Now only if we could convince Microsoft.
yes, but when i posted my first post, my browser went nuts and started refreshing all the time, so i had to restart the browser and found that i had the same post 3 times, so i edited them, the Escapist needs a delete post optionDPunch4 said:You know you edit your own post right? you don't need 3 posts in a row to say different things.NAHTZEE said:this is on my top 3 TO BUY list:

I'm still not sure how you come to that conclusion. "It can be improved if they improve it, but not if anyone else improves it"?zehydra said:that's a trick question. I never said it was worse on PC. I'm not sure where you got that idea. I'm saying that Oblivion can only be "improved" by the original creators of the game. Any "improvement" created by others is not actually part of the game.Critical_Sneeze said:I'm still not sure how you come to that conclusion. Not to mention that with no mods whatsoever, the PC version has all the same content, with an easier menu system and better graphics. Not sure how that's worse than the console version.
Why?zehydra said:I'm saying that Oblivion can only be "improved" by the original creators of the game.
no, you see I view Oblivion as a work of art. The very idea of "improving" Oblivion is entirely subjective, but the only way to change Oblivion at all and have it remain to be the same game is to have the original authors change it. Because it is up to the original creators to decide what is and what isn't Oblivion.Critical_Sneeze said:Why?zehydra said:I'm saying that Oblivion can only be "improved" by the original creators of the game.
You can't improve anything in your life without getting the original architect/designer/inventor involved?
Pretty much my reaction. Though I will need to get more memory before I get this for PC.demoman_chaos said:Thus the console versions are rendered pointless.
