Bethesda Shows Off Monsters, Magic and Stealth Kills in New Skyrim Screens

The only way that this game can really disappoint me is if the guild/faction setup is as bad as, or somehow worse, than Oblivion's. I want a more complex and varied system with much more interaction and prohibition.

I doubt they'll do anything on the level of Morrowind's factions and guilds, but just 4 from Oblivion? And nothing stopped you from being the grandmaster in all 4 with the same guy. Just disappointing.

I want to see guild strife, scheeming, plotting, sabotage, and maybe even positive interaction, but oblivion's guilds were just too isolated from each other, and not exclusive in any way.

Interesting, considering that Bethesda said that Skyrim's engine would be based off the Gamebryo engine. Incidently, in the very same article you linked.

Hm... perhaps they meant the basic design would be the same, while everything else would be new?
Here's a fairly thorough explanation.

Bethesda details Creation Engine [http://www.wouldyoukindly.com/bethesda-details-tesv-skyrims-new-creation-engine-and-its-awesome-power/]

For you lazies, basically they gutted Gamebryo, put Havok in charge of animations, and tweaked it in other ways.

I had already read that article, and nowhere does it seem to mention whether or not the crippling bugs have been corrected.

I wonder if at some point in Skyrim, or its DLC, we'll go to Cheydinhal to see what has actually happened to Cyrodiil.
I assume you meant Bruma

Well, it's possible. Depends on what the bugs were, where in the coding they are, and exactly what they did. Any animation bugs will be replaced by bugs within the Havok system. I've never really had much of a problem with Gamebryo myself. Crashes for me were few and far between, but it might be hardware related, might be something else all together.

Then again, I don't have Fallout: New Vegas, so I'm not familiar with any of the newest crippling bugs, only some of the older Oblivion ones.

It may have ended as a stealth kill but you just know that started off as a hug.
A warm embrace by two childhood friends.

That quickly turned sour. Just like my prom date.

Those look awesome! I sure hope a Dark Brotherhood type-group will be in the game.
The Dark Brotherhood has been confirmed to be in the game.

Sources are probably everywhere, but I'm too busy playing Minecraft to look for them.

The scenery looks nice, even though I know of about a good dozen mods made for making Oblivion look as good...

On the other hand, there's also a good dozen mods that make Morrowind look like Vanilla Oblivion.

Mods...

"As you can see from the screens, Skyrim is looking pretty impressive, especially for a game that doesn't come out for another seven months. "

kind of like Oblivion looked pretty impressive 6 months before they scrapped all the shading a poly count to rush out the release?

I'll believe it when I see it.

The crashing is caused by poor memory management. Morrowind, Oblivion and Fallout 3 randomly crash to the desktop because of this. I dont have Fallout NV either, so whether or not it does have the same crashing issues I cant say for certain, but I can only assume that since it too uses Gamebryo that it does have the desktop crashing issue. But, it has gotten steadily better since Morrowind.

It could be that the coders are slowly working out the bugs or that since systems have become more powerful the crashes are less frequent because the problem takes longer to build up.

Some of these would make really good backrounds, some of them look like friggin' art paintings.

That is fantastic news! No source needed, I believe you.

The forests and grass look amazingly detailed, I'll have to take some time off work after November 11.

You know I've got a pretty decent rig, but those screenshots are making my computer cry at the thought of running this game...

I wonder what it will take to run this game effectively....
