Really a shame. I'm going to wait until the GotY edition comes with all of the DLC, but I was hoping to get New Vegas on 360. I suppose my other option is to play it on Steam, but at that point, why bother playing at all.

I should think that Oblivion didn't have this many bugs. They probably should have stuck with an engine they know would work.

Still love the game, bugs and all. It's the most engrossing single-player experience I've ever enjoyed... They're providing fixes, and providing them for free, while still working on well-priced DLC. I'm willing to cut some slack.

I'm tempted to say if it ain't broke, don't try and fix it, but it was pretty broken in the first place. I think this minor mistake can be summarised by: "Yo dawg, I herd you like bugs, so we put bugs in yo bug so you can crash while you crash."
Wait, people are still playing New Vegas? Get back to Portal 2, silly people!
I was immediately thinking, "Yo dawg, Ah herd you like patches, so we made a patch fo'yo patch, so you can patch while you patch!"

They need a patch for a patch. Nice one Obsidian, looks I like you guys, I really do, but you need to test these things before releasing them.

I already downloaded it, but it's working fine for me. I'm still seeing Radscorpions stuck in the ground, though. Poor little devils...

Wait wait wait. Why are they just saying "don't get the update"? Can't they ask Microsoft to PULL the update so people who aren't paying attention to news and blogs don't get fucked over too?

My thoughts exactly. Now I am glad I still haven't picked up the game, granted I would likely get it on PS3. Ill wait for the price to drop a bit more due to the bugs then pick it up.
No no no, don't get it on PS3, that's even worse. In addition to all the normal bugs, you also get bonus bugs! The game will start locking up or flat-out freezing the bigger your save file gets. Meaning the more you play, the more the game will become broken to the point of spending more time waiting for it to start working again than actually playing.

I'm still waiting for the PC version of Fallout 3 to go on sale so I can get a version that I can actually play again. Never again on PS3.

Fixed this for you.

It's a shame that this developer still can't create any content without dozens of bugs. I guess their reputation as shoddy testers is well-deserved.

I prefer Marvel VS Capcom 3 myself.
Fixed this for you. You can disagree without implying that the other person's opinion is wrong and needs "fixing" as if it were a buggy game or messed up patch, you know.

This would require work and effort on their part. We already bought the game so other then potential income from DLC why should they try?

The only real way to send a message is to not buy their games.

...I still blame underpowered Microsoft-designed hardware. Keeping track of a huge, open gameworld like that is hard enough when you have real power under the hood. I shudder to think what these developers are going through trying to make it work on that... thing...

Oh look, a Bethesda patch fucked something up.

There's a shocker. You know Bethesda, if your going to take on the task of QA for an Obsidian game, you really need to be on the ball. And you haven't been on the ball with the last few games you made. I really shouldn't be surprised, but damn, its just ridiculous.

And yes, I know Obsidian developed this, but Bethesda handled the QA and I'm pretty sure is handling the patches(either testing them or making them themselves) while Obsidian does the DLC.
As far as I'm aware, it is the actual developers who patch the games.

But year, Obsidian + Gamebryo = watch the fuck out.

Anyone remember when Tribes 2 did the same thing? They released a patch to remove their previous patch.

I'd imagine Bethesda would handle the patches to give Obsidian more time to developing DLC. They already handled the QA, so its not too much of a stretch. And besides, they still need to test the patches and ship them off to MS/Sony for further testing.

Which actually raises another question, how'd this get past Sony/Microsoft?

Obsidian/Bethesda, just fix this mess and just let the game die, people don't play it much anymore.

Depends on the size of the development team then. DLC teams usually are a small group, so are the guys that do patches, etc. I don't know how big Obsidian is (not very, I wouldn't imagine) so unless they're now working full-steam on something else, I would still think it falls to them.

Either way, its still bizarre that this got through. Still, if its not affecting everyone then freak accidents happen.
