What I really want is access to the console. No more glitches leaving me incapable of finishing a quest! No more having to restart from hours ago before the glitch happened! Seriously, the mods are nice but give us the console!
And how are you going to type the command lines? It might work with stuff like TCL or TGM but as soon as you are trying to create an item, summon an actor or moveto you'll be begging for a keyboard.
The PS3 and 360 both have USB slots...I'm pretty sure scientists have discovered USB Keyboards by now.

Sounds promising (as well as a FANTASTIC idea), but I seriously doubt it's going to happen. After having my Xbox for a few years, I'm come to think that Microsoft hates having any kind of user-created content available. As far as Sony goes, I haven't had a PS3 long enough to know. Although if Little Big Planet is any indication, they'd go for it.

The most likely route seems to be having to download the mod via PC, then use USB to get the file on the HDD, then somehow configure the game to load it. I'm sure something in there goes against Microsoft's stupid content rules.

Both consoles have USB slots, even if I didn't already have a keyboard that would work I would gladly buy one for that. The glitches in Oblivion were so horrid that they almost broke the game for me. Hell, FFXI on the 360 had keyboard compatibility and that was ages ago! Get with the times Bethesda and give us a way to avoid the glitches that constantly happen with the Elder Scrolls games

But I would suffer through manually typing things anyways, It's just so terrible to have to load a save from ages ago to get around a stupid glitch. While I'm on the subject how about a more reliable autosave... like maybe every 10 minutes rather than every few location changes, cause I've spent about an hour in some dungeons only to have my game freeze and me being shit outta luck.

Bethesda has the right idea, instead of engaging in the Console vs. PC war they are trying to bring us all together in hand-holding harmony. *sniff* It's so touching.

Maybe they could just package larger mods as free DLC? I'm sure Bethesda could work out some sort of deal with the modders. :l

Bethesda: If you do this, I promise that I will love you guys, forever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever and ever

Damn, I really hope that they can do this. Mods are about the one thing consoles really need to be on equal footing with PCs, and if they get them, then Bethesda's done a fantastic job.

I'm quite taken back by this, on one hand I'm happy for console players getting the possibility of gaining quality community made mods, which make the gaming experience larger. It will also mean the modders can target a larger audience.

But on the other hand im sort of insulted by his remark saying 90% of their audience are console gamers. That either means console sales have sold stupid amounts of units (im talking 50+ million) or every single PC player is a modder and im not even sure that would amount to all of the PC gamers. I say this because the Oblivion/Fallout 3 modding community is pretty large, these being PC exclusive, so this remark stuns me.

To me it sounded like 'We don't care about PC gamers anymore, we have console gamers!', if PC gamers only represent 10% of the market why bother at all with PC?

Thanks Todd, thanks a lot....

Note: this isn't a attack at console gamers, its an attack against Todd!

I'd be very impressed if they could pull this off but I don't think it's going to happen. Unless you have some super simplified user friendly tool set like little Big Planet I don't see how this is even going to be possible.

Also Whooo mods are confirmed!!!!!

If Valve can make the PS3 and PC versions of Portal 2 interact with each other, Bethesda can surely put user created mods on a server that's accessible by PSN ans XBL...

Ultratwinkie said:
Because XBL and PSn do not know the meaning of free. They need to make money in every way imaginable.

Nude mod? 5.99$.
Cheat mod? 5 payments of 99.99$.
Wrong. There's lots of free stuff on PSN.

OMFG!!

If this is true, I wouldn't have to buy a new computer just to play Skyrim.

I wont have to wish for the pc version anymore for mods, I approve this because the idea has extreme potential.

Hopes and dreams rising. Rising. Rising. Fading. Rising. Rising. Peaked!

I'm starry eyed and full of innocent wonder right now.

"90% of our audience is on the consoles"

Where did they get this info? Seems a bit too high...

Anyway, this is great news. I first bought Oblivion for 360, loved it and then later bought the GOTY version for PC. Mods really made the game better.

Only problem I see with this is how will Microsoft react to this. Lets just hope they wont make players buy the mods, that would suck :S

This would be insane!
Only ever play games on a console due to the fact that i cant be arsed to buy a top-notch PC and maintain it.
Console gaming seems so much easier... but yet less rewarding.

Would be great if this happened, modding completely transformed Oblivion for me so it would be great if I could get it on Skyrim too. Sadly I think this has the same chance as Skyrim running on a computer that can max out Oblivion, which is to say none at all.

Sucker Punch are doing something similar with Infamous 2 user generated content. I am sure they said you could play (and modify) other people's generated content on that too.
The only problem I could see would be Micro$oft and their XBox Live charging structure which also casued Valve problems with Steam Integration for Portal 2.
