For my playthrough, I did a male shepard, did all of the loyalty missions, had all of my crew survive the suicide mission, and told the Illusive Man to go suck a big one twice. In my opinion, Mission Accomplished!

I'm still sore with Bioware since the Shadow Broker DLC has been bugged for two months and they haven't even bothered to mention it.

I didn't notice a glitch on the Shadow Broker DLC. What problem are you having?

Since no-one else has said it... DAT ASS

I usally play as a female Shepard though, because the male voice actor sounds terrible.
This still surprises me, as I think Mark Meer is perfect as MY Shepard thanks very much.

It's all down to perspective at the end of the day - something the gaming community is in short supply of a lot of the time.

It's not really fair regarding the award for Archangel. I mean he was one of the first teammates to recruit and was required to have to move the story along.

Samara, Legion, and Thane were among my favorites that were all in later sections of the game.

Just puting it out there: the voice actor for female Shepard is way better.

the male voice actor delivers all his lines flat. unless he is angry. the female voice actor always has some emotion behind what she is saying unless the situation calls for "hard to read."

all and all a great game but I have never made it more than 20% in game 1 or 2 with male Shepard.

My original playthrough was a female Shepard, custom look, as a Vanguard. On ME 1.
Unfortunately ME 2 has things in it that make it very hard for me to sit through, so it's been put on the back burner until I can get a bigger TV so I can actually read the damn text at least!!!

That's a shocker. Everyone I have talked to prefers the female Shephard. That's also what I prefer. The voice actor is better, but also I just don't like playing Male characters in general. I wonder where all these people who like Male Shephard come from...

Hale's voice acting is much preferable to the cheesy ham-fisted delivery by the male protagonist. No matter what, there's just no way I could sit through a whole game of that. Plus looking a male buttocks the whole way through is just .. eww? :p

I prefer Hale's voice acting. And I'm not saying that to be different. I truly do. It feels....weird playing male Shepard now. It's just not the same :-/

Fully upgraded the ship, lost that amazing Professor on my first finish. Second finish cost me Tali.

I just can't seem to get everyone out alive. I'm still working on that one.
Usually if you do all the people's loyalty missions and make them happy by doing so they'll survive. Also you might want to send specific people on tasks at the end. AKA throw legion in the pipe and send mordin back to the ship. Also use tali in the last mission, she might have the highest chance of dying otherwise.
Found out this has no bearing on who lives/dies, unless there's a random variable. Circumstances led me to choose between Tali or Legion's loyalty, and I chose Legion (because, well, how can you NOT?!). Kept Tali on my team thinking that might make a difference. I was wrong. Don't know if a non-loyal member will always get it at those last few moments, or if there's a roll of the dice involved, but keeping her in my team did little favor for her mortality...

ed- May sound confused, will elaborate. I always do loyalty missions. Always trip up at the Legion/Tali choice. Never seem to have enough reputation either way to have any dialog option to rescue the situation. Always lose the non-loyal after making my choice. Going for a strict 100% Paragon play-through this time and hope it all works out. Must be able to make Paragon dialog choice to save both, or all hope...lost.(Notice now, edit sounds like Mordin wrote it. Is ill-advised to revise again.)
Usually the last loyalty choice is a factor with their loyal/unloyal status and I know that you'd need 100% paragon/renegade in order to get it, but every time I've played it I've had everyone survive despite doing renegade and paragon plays. I honestly don't know what to tell you other than give that paragon play a chance to work and hopefully it'll work out. If not, there's always gamefaqs.

My first playthrough I had a male shephard and used Garrus and Grunt as my main squadmates. Everyone was loyal, ship fully upgraded, and everyone survived :D

usually if you do side missions you can get enough points to make any choice you want, my first playthroughs on normal and insane both got me maxed out in paragon and renegade, also, if you find you are still having trouble, look at the skill reassigner thing on your ship, one of the choices there gives 75% bonus to paragon/renegade the other gives 100%, ex. shock trooper and commando, if you switch at any point in the game it boosts your points up accordingly, and if you switch back, the points drop back down to what they were before.

If you want to survive the suicide mission, gameinformer graphed out all the ways that you can survive, but here is an easy way, choose miranda or garrus as your second team leader (whoever is loyal)send tali or legion through the pipe (whoever is loyal) use the asari or jack biotic (whoever is loyal) through the bugs, use miranda or garrus on the second team as the second leader (whoever is loyal) when sending the crew back send grunt or garrus along (the loyal one, zaeed works too)and for the final rush do not take anybody who is not loyal, or mordin, as even if he is loyal he will sometimes die (apparently not a glitch).

foollow this strategy and you should make it out with everyone alive, yes those who are not loyal can survive in this way, and anybody you choose to take on the final mission segment will die if they are not loyal.

Paragon male Shepherd who romanced Ashley then Miranda who saved all squadmates and crewmen and let Cerberus keep the base because I wanted cool weapons in ME3. It could help fight the reapers and gain an insight to them. Paragon choice at that point felt like shooting myself in the foot for the next game. It also felt short sighted to choose Paragon at the end, a naive Shepherd who had percieved the threat and thought he alone could triumph.

I can't see how the soldier is the most popular class. It's so....bland.
Bullet time sniper round to the exploding head of a robot.

Watch as the disruptor ammo tears up his insides while he explodes and blows up the corespondent mechs causing a chain reaction of awesomeness... in slow motion.

P.S: The solider gets access to the most weapons. The only thing he/she can't use are SMG's, and they only have one upgrade(which is DLC) and function similarly to the Assault Rifles
If you are a weapons guy, then yes I see how the soldier is appealing. However, for me at least, it all comes down to a single question.

Force powers or two extra weapons?

My answer is force powers, but I guess slow-mo headshots have their attraction.

Played as a male Renegade Infiltrator Shepard with a fully upgraded ship. Returned from the Omega 3 with the entire squad alive as well as the whole crew. And the Illusive Man isn't extremely happy with me.

Sometimes being a completionist has its rewards.

I would think the reason behind all the male Shepards is that you can't have a romance with Tali'Zorah otherwise.
