It's strange that they'd release this bundle in the same year as the third. Wouldn't that kinda cannibalize the sales of 3?
ME3 managed to do that well enough on its own, I think.

If this includes all the DLC, I approve. Or at least all the ME1 and ME2 DLC.

[lol]The ME3 DLC's already on the disk[/lol]

If you do not own any of the games it is a pretty good deal. Still, ME1 and ME3 will be so contradicting to one another due to the retcons that it might confuse people a tad.

The deal works if you want to have ME3 along with ME1 and 2, but 1 and 2 themselves can probably be found for a lot less these days. Unless it holds the DLC for the previous games (...you never know, EA might have a change of heart... ...right), this does not really seem like any more than milking the last bit out of the the currently established franchise. So... huzzah for the ones that were under a rock when this triology was being released I suppose?

For everyone interested in the franchise... well, nothing remotely noteworthy was announced?

If people have legitimate points which I have not considered, I wish to be informed of their unique perspective to see if it adjusts my view as any rational person should. To their credit, a few people have brought up the characters of the game, who I agree could be interesting. That was far more the element that drove me through to the end than the gameplay.
there comes a point though...where there is no point arguing....if somone dislikes charachters or thinks they are bad I can't argue they arent without hitting the "subjectivity" wall

being a fan I've found all arguing does is cause frustration....Ive seen Mass Effect come under so much hate/bile that its just easyer to walk away and save my sanity

From a dirty PS3 console player is ME1 really gods gift to man in comparison to 2 and 3, or is this just a massive troll that everyone's in on?
That depends. The story is miles better than 2 or 3, so there's that, but it only really has impact if you don't know anything about the Mass Effect universe. Unlike 2 and 3, the plot is slowly revealed like a mystery with one jaw-dropping moment that resembles the twist of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. 2 and 3 just had mediocre video game plots and they did a whole lot of exposition dumping instead of SHOWING. There was not a single "WOW" moment in either. Not only was the ME1's plot better, but it was executed in a competent cinematic manner.

And speaking of KOTOR, the gameplay is actually like that crossed with a bit of the original Deus Ex, but in third person as opposed to the Gears of War style gameplay of 2 and 3. Playing on harder difficulties forces you to completely adopt the Bioware RPG style of stat-management, buff-stacking, crowd-control, DPS, etc.

Mass Effect was unique, and I really felt the Star Control 2 influences throughout, and I was hoping the series was going to go that route, culminating in epic discoveries and resolutions in the 3rd game. Instead I was greeted to chest high walls and juvenile writing (the stories, not the characters). Even the good parts of the story of 3 was really just conflict resolution between factions as opposed to answering any of the overarching mysteries of the story, which were then answered, and rather boringly, by Harry fucking Potter at the very end.

Oh, and speaking of juvenile writing, in the first game there was supposed to be an aspect of realism regarding "galactic mating." Don't get me wrong, I felt that Tali and Garrus were the most interesting romantic options, and it was prudent to include them as options when looked at like a dating simulator, BUT, I feel that the first game's romantic options were true to the intent of Mass Effect universe.

I happily own the entire trilogy for Xbox, but I'd be pleased to buy this trilogy for my new pc, under the condition that I don't have to install origin as well. Can anyone confirm that this will be a requirement? I haven't heard it either being confirmed or denied.

What's the point if they're not done with ME3 DLC yet? You buy the trilogy and then they release more DLC, and then they release another trilogy with all the DLC. If you want to buy it, just wait until they're done with the whole thing.

Oooooh
I own the first two games on my 360 and ME3 for PS3. Not to fond of my choice, since the choices in ME3 were all made for me and sucked, but I don't want to play on my 360 anymore. Was actually just planning today to get ME2 on PS3 before my next ME3 run. Now I know when that'll be. :D

Just hope this includes DLC or I'll probably grab ME2 by itself and forget about the first game.

I know - especially if the supposed "DLC release schedule" that's being shopped around is true. We know there's at least one more still to come (Omega), and supposedly several others, including a "Guardian/Citadel", "Light" and "Rebirth" DLC that's apparently coming out either in late 2012 or early 2013.

Then again, from the looks of this, there won't be any DLC included - unless they've somehow figured out how to release the original ME2 game on the 360 while adding several gigabytes to an already-stuffed pair of discs.

The Trilogy is being released for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC, and yes, that means that the original Mass Effect is finally coming to the PS3. For PlayStation owners who have already played the second and third games and just want to find out what they missed in the first, a standalone version of Mass Effect will also be released on the PlayStation Network.
the original Mass Effect is finally coming to the PS3.

**screams with delight**

Yes! Yes! YES!!

**dances around happily**

Finally! Thank you Bioware!! I love you!

Would somebody please explain to me how Mass Effect is a good story? Villains are various and never well developed, the main character is completely wooden no matter what path you choose, and (speaking of choosing paths) the whole game is basically an invisible hallway simulator. It's a space game where there is no space gameplay. You are captain of a point and click ship. It was no different than the Kings quest games. Move something around and click on anything that lights up.

Terrible series. I had high expectations for it and it delivered on none of them.
This seems way out in left field or this thread.

Also, Can't that be said for pretty much, ALL video games?

Why does generic Shepard look like the dirty cop who gets his face blow off by Bruce Willis in the first 20 minutes of the movie? Your a big god dam hero, Shepard, look like one! Anywho, still don't own 3 yet. Still waiting for something to come of Origin.
Isn't it technically the player's fault if MaleShep looks like a Bruce Willis knock off?

I still get pissed about ME3's ending when I hear news about Bioware and honestly I'd rather spend $60 on Crap of Duty: Modern Fail 500 billion then give any more of my money to the EA infested dev known as Bioware (speaking as someone who owns ME1 and DLC, ME2 (collectors) and DLC, ME3 (collectors).)
Buy crap game from crap company > Buy good game from crap company.

This makes perfect sense.

They could easily put in a code that lets you dl the dlc for free if couldn't fit on the disk.

But from whats on their site if your not playing on pc your s.o.l

On PC, Mass Effect will include Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station on disk. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included which features Zaeed ? The Price of Revenge, The Firewalker Pack, Cerberus Assault Gear, Arc Projector heavy weapon, and Normandy Crash site mission. For Mass Effect 3, Online Pass will be included granting players access to co-op multiplayer.
On Xbox 360, Bring Down the Sky and Pinnacle Station are not included with Mass Effect, however they are available as stand-alone downloads through Xbox LIVE. For Mass Effect 2, Cerberus Network will be included and Online Pass will be included for Mass Effect 3.
Information on PlayStation 3 DLC will be available soon.
