I think you are missing the point. Many people have acknowledged that it's exactly what they said it would be, but the concept itself doesn't fit with the character and the result is terrible. It's like if I were to crap in a bowl. It's a turd, and it's expected that it be a turd. Nobody is going to say "Hey, that's a nice turd"(maybe a doctor, I don't know) because it's a log of crap. Similarly, the statue is well put together and stays true to the concept of whatever style it is, but the style doesn't fit the character and they did something to here face that left her looking like a child.Zenacra said:... am i the only person who finds the appeal of Anime versions of female characters of western properties? seriously, it's ANIME LIARA, SHE'S SUPPOSED BE MORE SEX-APPEAL! God damn, every time someone bashes this statue for being too sexy, i lose a little more of my faith in the rest of the ME fandom. the statue's being made by fucking Kotobukiya, the company known for giant robots and chicks with huge levels of sex-appeal.
Sex appeal that 15 year old boys might find attractive.Zenacra said:... am i the only person who finds the appeal of Anime versions of female characters of western properties? seriously, it's ANIME LIARA, SHE'S SUPPOSED BE MORE SEX-APPEAL! You're a fan of Japanese culture and have an avatar with Japanese game character, use word "weeaboo" and ask others not to judge you... yeah hypocrisy it is.Daystar Clarion said:I'm a fan of Japanese mythology and folk-lore. Bloody Japanese and their obsession with huge tits.
(Not that all Japanese are obesessed mind you, but it is very apparent in anime.)
I'm also a fan of God of War, based around Greek mythology, and Assassin's Creed which is set in a myriad of locations, including Jerusalem during the Crusades and Italy during the renaissance.
Don't presume to know me based on an avatar.

This sums it up for me. Only downside of this new character model is that I'll have to hold my girlfriend in contempt for not looking like Liara...RobotNinja said:I think people are looking at this the wrong way. Sure it doesn't really look like Liara, but have you seen those boobs?
Comparing your girlfriend negatively to an anthropomorphic squid suggests that your girlfriend is also a fictional character.Biscuits said:This sums it up for me. That's my feelings on it as well. It's a great likeness of an Asari, but it's a lousy likeness of Liara. For one thing the forehead is too big. Liara did not have such a freakishly large forehead.Logan Westbrook said:The problem is that this is supposed to be a specific Asari, and while it's a well made statue, it doesn't look like Liara, and more importantly, it doesn't feel like Liara.
I don't think 'enthusiasm' is the word you're looking for.Zero=Interrupt said:See Bioware? That's how you design a character. If their art style was as good as this, I might be more enthusiastic about their lackluster games.
No, no.. she is real. Just she doesn't have awesome super powers and moon sized blue breasts. (I'm not sure the latter is a strong selling point though).Cousin_IT said:& I thought bioware's pandering to perverts wouldn't extend beyond gratuitous arse & cleavage shots when in conversation with female characters.
