So why are people flipping out over this? It's not like this is the new in game model for Liara, just a dumb statue.

She looks like she's posing for Fornax. Maybe she needed some money in her early maiden phase to fund her studies? [/terrible in universe justification]

Really, why would you take Liara, with her cute, somewhat low-key and inexperienced sexuality and make her "In-your-face!-Boobies!"-sexy? Doesn't fit the character at all. Not to speak of the face.

Because what I want on my desk is a grey alien with a giant rack and a weird looking face. Honestly, folks wonder why they're still single when they've got stuff like this plastered across their work area.

Slightly more on topic, yeah - it looks weird and plastic boobs fail to turn me on.

Bioware commissioned a goofy bishoujo style statue and got exactly what they wanted. Sure, it doesn't look like "our" Liara, but it wasn't really supposed to in the first place. The whole point was to see what other artists would do with the concept.

Have people seen half the drawings that Penny Arcade puts out as promotional art? Heck, in the latest one (for Uncharted) the main character looks like he's been taking bodybuilding lessons from Marcus Fenix, and yet I fail to see complaints materializing. I have the sinking feeling that most of the outrage against the Liara statue is just typical anti-Japanese outrage (how dare you get WEABOO all over my favorite franchise Bioware!?!?!?).

The only female character that really uses her sex appeal is Miranda this might work with her but even she dose not fit with the 'pretty fresh faced anime girl' archetype. Really I mean, Bioware characters are above such pandering.

What? Why?

You'd think just regular statues would sell atleast 3 times better.

Wait. I just googled this anime thingy in the middle of writing this post...

So, now I get that it's promotion for that, but I still think my reaction stands; You'd think that changing up animefying - in the most stereotypical and stupid way - the characters in Mass Effect, is a monumentally stupid idea.

[sub]I kinda hope they do that to Tali; the fanrage will be glorious ...or creepily positive.[/sub]

Never played the Mass Effect series before, but I at least took the time out to compare this to the original character, and I have to say, as much as I like my fair share of titties...I don't find this to be believable at all. I'm afraid to see who they fix up next. :/

Creepy. Makes me think of a teenage girl at line for a club trying to convince the bouncer she's of age.

The first thing that the face reminded me of was:

This immediately came to mind.

The fact that someone appears to have placed an inflated baby head on a woman's body instantly ruins any sex appeal that this may have had in the first place.

"I'd say its breasts, its very jugs." - video on trial reference
but I don't have THAT big a problem with it. I wonder way?

It's a good thing that species that evolved on different planets, dozens of light years apart, manage to develop the same secondary sexual characteristics; because really, what's the point of space exploration and making contact with other intelligent beings if we don't want to put our dicks in them?

I....do not hate this.

Though maybe Miranda, Samara or Tali would have been a better choice.

I don't know if Liara is the right character for this kind of thing...Granted, the sexy-young-looking ME characters who could undergo that kind of treatment...well, it's a shallow pool. The thing is it just doesn't look like Liara to me.

I'd be curious to see them try to make a bishoujo Jack, Kelly or, Tali though.

THE THOUGHTS.

THEY BURNS ME. THEY BURN.

I'm not bothered at all by this statue. It's just a small ass statue and it isn't really that bad compared to the rest of Japan's sexy tastes.

...Have you seen some of their freaky shit? Worse shit than this will inevitably appear on the interwebz anyways if it hasn't already.

Liara was childlike, sure, but not this childlike. The head seems way too big. I'm not a big fan of this.

This will be an item in Mass Effect 3: Weeaboo Hooker Edition.

Bloody Japanese and their obsession with huge tits.

(Not that all Japanese are obesessed mind you, but it is very apparent in anime.)
It's called compensation. /stereotype

Racist stereotypes aside, I don't like it. I'm not one for anime anyways. The breasts are too big for my tastes and her face... I won't go there.
