This is extremely stupid, I don't use the emblem nor do I even play on the 360(Thank the heavens) but damn Microsoft. How stupid are you?

Because the swastika isn't itself the issue, it's the use of it as a personal emblem to make a statement about yourself. It's like getting a short quote with your person and writing "KILL ALL JEWS"

Or like writing "I like playing german".

Or "Waffen SS".

See, I can turn around meanings too!

Yeah okay buddy, hang a swastika out your window in pretty much any western country and let's see how many people take that as "I like germany"

But i'm not talking about hanging it out my window, i'm talking about a game which does in fact feature nazi's. I haven't played online because my xbox live ran out about 6 days ago but if you can play as germans online then that's the meaning most players would take.

I have seen so many swastikas, and I don't even play all that often. Given the volume of them, it's clear the majority of people are creating them thinking they're being funny or clever. As such, ban 'em all.

As much as it galls me, since it's blocking free speech (Yeah, teenage censorship - however will we cope?!), the people using swastikas should be banned. If only for the pure and simple facts that they aren't being ironic at all, they certainly aren't being original and they need a lesson in individuality. If they created something a little more unique, people might give them their dues.

And taking it all a step further. Shouldn't it be MORE heinous to make a Hutu symbol for my player card in the game? It's a more relevant atrocity committed by a group of people. A genocide that took place while most people who pick up the game were actually alive...

Banning Swastikas makes sense, but there are other things that should be banned as well.
Except people can make ANYTHING that they want (I saw a Squirtle last night, it was actually really well done ) so its very hard to get every single offender that makes an emblem that falls under the cloud of "bannable"

Okay so I read the first page of comments, then this page. Apparently some people are being willfully ignorant of the swastika's current symbolism. It symbolizes Nazi germany, white supremacy and racial hatred. That's what it means now. It doesn't matter what obscure or ancient group used it here or there, NOW it means what Nazis and white power assholes turned it into.

This isn't really an infringement on free speech, it's just punishment for using a hateful symbol. Like how you can't yell bomb on a plane without getting tacked by an air marshall or you can't trash talk a gangster without getting shot in the face? Well you can't use a swastika without getting banned. It's not like Xbox live is stopping these assholes from stitching it on their shirts or tattoing it on their chests. You just can't use it on this game. Cry about freedoms lost if you must, but I think the rest of us aren't as deluded.
