Dunno about jaw dropping. It was good but the animations no where near what Halo Wars or FF is putting out there. It reminded me a lot of Freelancer shots.

The content though is badass. I cant wait for this
I haven't read the rest of thread to see what happens yet, but I hope you brought your flame retardant suit. You're going to need it.

I'll admit it. Every game I've played for the past two years has been to pass the time until SC2 comes out. Some have been better than others and some I've even loved, but bottom line, they've just been passing time. But I must say, this clip has made me even MORE excited for SC2, and has given me further reason to believe I won't be disappointed.

EDIT: Prince Vallerian sounds like Sullivan from Resonance of Fate, sounding like he's voicing almost exactly the same role.

I wish I could buy that reduced rate/play online for a couple months deal that is going on in other countries, since the campaign looks unbelievably sick and I'm really not that interested in multiplayer...

This...this is an RTS right? not some sort of Big blockbuster starring the Dark Knight and the guy from District nine?

I think I just nerd-gasmed all over my screen.

Enh, nicely animated. I've always liked Blizzards cut scenes. But the nice cinematic cut scenes don't mean squat. Warcraft's 3 cut scenes were awesome but I got rather annoyed by the mitten handed style they used for everything else.

Still on the fence on this one, I was obsessed with Warcraft 1 and 2 when I was younger but Warcraft 3 didn't do too much for me. Starcraft I recall getting stuck in the game fairly early on and giving up on it.

I might pick this up if/when the price goes down abit. I do have some love of strategy games.

Awesome.

And this will be about the third time I've said this on the forums, but if Best Buy screws my pre-order of the SCII Special Edition, I will be very upset.

At first I was wondering why it was pretty much nothing but negative comments, most commonly saying that it's ripping off Star Wars or Halo, but then I remembered the forums are largely populated by console players rather than PC gamers and a lot of the people will have missed out on the first Starcraft. But what I find funny is that with people saying it is ripping off say Halo, Starcraft 2 is pretty much the first but with better graphics so really even Star Wars 1-3 would then be ripping off Starcraft as apposed to SC ripping off SW and Halo.

Though non the less I think this is easily going to be the best game of the year and I can't wait for it, I'll have to travel down to London for the special release event. The trailer has done nothing but make me want it more and more, why is there no time travelling machine yet!?!?!?
No one has compared this to halo or said that is ripping off halo or star wars. You can't blame their fanboys for EVERY flamewar that happens. Also, I find your portrayal of the console gamers of these forums borderline offensive. I would remind you that console and PC gamers are not mutually exclusive, it is possible to play pc and console games, as well as have an appreciation for the history of video games as a whole.

On a lighter note...

That looked like a blockbuster movie, but then i remembered "this is Starcraft II". Then midway, I realized that the beardy man was Jim Raynor. And then I was muffins.

(or rather, a nerd that just watched a friggin' sweet trailer for a game that's coming out next week.)

Truly epic trailer. but I can see how people would be mislead about it being a FPS. if I hadn't been waiting for so long for this game and only just saw the trailer without a previous knowledge of SC I would've thought it to be an FPS which gets me thinking. StarCraft as an FPS would be pant-shittingly epic.

now if Blizzard would just hurry up and get Diablo 3 finished!

So it's gonna be, like, a knock-off of Warhammer 40K?

And it's real-time strategy, so that trailer is essentially meaningless.
Thank you somebody!

Anyway, that video made me realize, even if I don't like it, I NEED THIS GAME RIGHT NOW!

Also, Kerrigan looks exactly the same as the Eldar Farseer from DOW2. That Gunship that was in the old teaser looks like the Clone Gunship. I will stop now...

agree with red marine. blizzard has had incredibly topnotch cgi dedication on detail since Wc3. (i have the dvd cinematics disc) and their trailers ALWAYS show they have the ability to make top notch cinematics. why not a movie?
It's ALWAYS been that way!
Looks like crap, now, but you should've seen the cinematics as far back as Warcraft 2!
That stuff was awesome back then!
The best I remember was the Brood War intro, as it did a reaally convincing flame from a cigarette lighter that me and my brothers spaz out about it!

I already saw the trailer, but that doesn't answer my main question.

What IS Starcraft? And why should I buy it?
I get the feeling that Blizzard is concentrating their marketing on people who played the original game, because I have no idea what it is.
Isn't that what they're supposed to be doing?
