I know you didn't mention The Sun, but if what you said is how it is, then that just throws their crap out the window ¬.¬
Check my post here: [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/jump/7.245065.8947417] we went through a lot of checkups on Rickets earlier this year. :)

The Sun would post "conclusive" proof that the Earth were flat if they thought it would sell a few extra newspapers. They are the British equivilant of Fox News.

Who owns the Sun? Is it Murdoch? I bet its Murdoch.

Rickets can't be "caught", it can only be developed from not enough Sun....

Oh...

I see what they did there.
O_O

...sneaky bastards...

OT: Why should we care about what The Sun says? Everyone knows their news is pure garbage. Going to them and expecting credible stories is like going to Fox and expecting non-biased reporting. [sub][sub]See what I did there?[/sub][/sub]

I'm not even British, and I realize how much bullshit the Sun is full of. It has a horrible reputation, even in places where it's not even read.

Its the Sun... people only read it for Page 3, the comics and a laugh. There rarly is any "proper" news in there.

You're correct, Murdoch does indeed own the sun.

I hear he's in talks to buy the moon ,)

Who else does he own? Oh...Fox News...

Yeah...about that...Any American readers can just replace all instances of "The Sun" with "Fox News" for exactly the same article.

This. Russell Howard is the voice of our generation, he knows what he's talking about.

I'd expect no less from the Sun. As many people have already said, it's a pile of trash, and is not to be believed more than your favorite fantasy book.

Hey if we're already at it, let's just blame everything on games. A rise in the crime rate? It's the fault of the games. Terrorism? Of course it's the games. Many children not having clean water and food? Who else could it be if not the games. My dog died, again it's the games. What else could we blame on the games, so that we don't have to actually take responsibility for bad stuff that happens in the world and which isn't easy to be solved.

You know what I found funny is how much of a hypocrite they are (yeah I know I'm talking about The Sun here). I happen to pick up the newspaper that mention about the whole Rickets which I read which is a total bull just to blame gaming alone.
Anyway a pages after that article, in the Clarkson (part of the newspaper) there was a small column which had the heading "A call to arms for fathers" which an image of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
This article is just about a guy playing that game with his children (don't get me started about children playing mature games). He goes off writing about the benefits of playing game with his children since he's not in the pub spending his money on beers and getting drunk nor is he betting his money away in horse racing. He said the main benefit of playing that game was bonding with his children while killing AI Russians and zombies.
So it pretty much WTH? to state one negative thing to everyone who read and then to have another state the positive thing in a few pages later.

He speaks the truth.

I can't even read the newspapers in this country anymore beyond the sport sections, load of lying, poorly written drivel.

I wouldn't trust The Sun to publish the location of their own backsides never mind comprehend a complex social situation and a deficiency disease at the same time.

The Sun isn't even worthy of the title of "Tabloid", as all it is is a collection of half-witted ideas and poor literary skills.

People only buy the Sun because of the tits on page 3, and the occasional sport exclusive they have, so fortunately few people will have even seen this article.

It's Jeremy Clarkson. Love him or hate him, he doesn't make up stuff just for the sake of sales and he ignores most editorial influences. For example, he's mentioned (I think in his Sunday Times column, another product of News International) that he considers being employed in the BBC far better for your future prospects than ITV. Saying the BBC is better than the other channels in a Murdoch paper?

I wouldn't be too surprised if it transpires that more people read the Clarkson column in the Sun than that day's news content. Although, the Russel Howard video posted above makes any elaboration on the state of newspapers repetition.
