The minute I heard Bungie was ending their deal with Microsoft, I thought "Activision".

I'm very curious what they'll come up with. And whether it'll be something else than sci-fi.

Has everyone (Bungie included) forgotten that Bungie doesn't own Halo? While they may have developed the games, the IP is owned by Microsoft Game Studios. Unless Microsoft were to drop out of the console race and sell the franchise there is little to no chance of a Halo game being made by a non-Microsoft division.
I doubt they'll be revisiting Halo until they get back with Microsoft. 'Tis a sad truth but the truth nonetheless.

Also, let's remember that Bungie only signed a publishing deal with Activision. Activision only distributes the games and sets the prices for them. Bungie still has full control of what goes into the final product of their games.

This will mean that "Bungie" will no longer be loyal to their fans.
Unfortunately, the fans haven't been loyal to Bungie for years. Grow up.

Activision completely owns Infinity Ward right.

So it owns the Call of Duty franchise.

So it owns all its characters.

So we could see Captain Price in Halo....

[insert vulgar obscenities here]

My reaction can be summed up with this video.

Edit: Ah, figure it out.
But the real question is, how scared should we be?

...entirely it is.

Of course. They get to profit off of a great developer, and they've learned to give said developer full control. Brilliant. Also, I've said this before, and I'll say it again: BUNGIE ON STEAM!!!!!!
Steam and Digital Distribution is the enemy of gamers.

But that's a debate for another time.

And people complained about when Bungie was with Microsoft and MSGS. Now we all can complain. Should we hold a funeral?

You have GOT to be kidding me, what the hell could Bungie be thinking? There goes all creative freedom.

This is almost as bad as the Bioware EA catastrophe.
