Cartoon Networks Says "Go Planet" to Live-Action Captain Planet Movie

I KNEW it. I effing CALLED this like two years ago. I said "Within the next 10 years, they're going to make a Captain Planet movie."
As someone who actually liked Captain Planet back in the day, I am sort of curious as to what's going to come out of this. I expect it to be an overblown preachy piece of shit without the goofy charm or nostalgia of the original, but hey, maybe I'll be lucky and wrong.

My favorite part about captain planet was the ridiculous things they routinely had to counter. I remember one episode the villians built a pollution machine. It literally just sits there and creates pollution. Why in the hell would anyone waste millions of dollars on something like that?

I would love to see who they are casting as Captain Planet, and if they are going to brig back all the popular actors of the 80's and 90's for the villains. Who could ever forget Jeff Goldblum as Verminous Skum?

also this is kind of a plot hole i realized in the series, captain planets only weakness is being covered in pollution right? but alot of the times the pollution tends to be something like oil which is carbon and comes naturally from dead life forms....how does that actually hurt him? yes it's toxic but its also a natural substance that comes from plants and animals. the guy should be downing some diesel fuel as an energy drink!

That show had TWICE more educational value than Captian Planet ever did, from things like racism, oppression, some actual military forethought...its depth was certainly moreso worth exploring with a revivification these days. Heck it could still work, with us exploiting our own resources to the point we'll have to start mining planets of our solar system eventually and which poor sods will we have for *that* shitty job?

i do not know much about exosquad, but i would love the job of mining on another planet.
