Funny, because a lot of people had that arrogant "well of course it wasn't coming over here" attitude on the thread that said the game had no plans on coming over. Good to know my thinking that they were just hopping on the "of course!" bandwagon was justified. Epically.

Then again, this is the perfect time for those people to place a spin on their "of course it's not coming to the US!" stories. They're good at that. On topic: FLIP YEAH, MAN. Feels good.

Not to my wallet, though. I'm a PS3 owner, and we're getting games up the wazoo. Last Guardian, yo. ;_;

I'm sorry if this comes across as provocative, but I'm honestly still not sure why I should care.

I liked Persona 3...but that's about the extent of my experience with Atlus titles.
You're really missing out. From the Persona games to Demon's Souls, to Metal Slug for PSP as well as a slew of good RPGs for the PSP (not to mention Tactics Ogre!), to awesome PS2 titles like Eternal Poison and Odin Sphere to wacky fun like Trauma Center, Atlus consistently puts out quality titles year after year. And that's just covering games I've played or am planning to play.
I really wouldn't bring up the "You're missing out!" comments. Honestly, I've played the games you mentioned and I didn't care for most of them. The story of Nocturne and Persona 4 interested me the most but I still hated the gameplay. Mostly because it's from atlus I can care less about this game myself.
Spoilers: Welcome to the minority of JRPG fans.

Did you mean 360? ALL PS3 games are region free.

That's one of the reasons I bought the console.

Awesome! :D Though, I had no idea Atlus wasn't planning to bring it to the US anyway. I guess I missed that one. Good thing though because I would've been furious. xD

Got the news in the Atlus newsletter. So awesome. So fucking awesome.

Ummmm, I don't see Europe being mentioned anywhere. Atlus, we still like you too.

Common Europe port, Europe port....Come oooooon....

How about Europe? Any word wheather or not the game will be region restricted? I usually don't import games, so I have no idea how commonplace such restrictions are. Anyone have any importing experience?

Hold the fucking phone... Europe k thx

You're almost there Atlus just announce a Europe release date and i will offically buy Persona 4.
therandombear said:
Good for you, maybe it won't be so bad after Fox News rips it apart and the board of ratings make Atlus censor parts of it...:3

Only kidding...just waiting for the Europe release date now....right Atlus?
Playstation 3? What about it? I have one.
What? WHAT?
Sorry, just showing a picture confused me.

I knew it would come to East! Nobody would be so dumb to sell a AAA title only in Japan.

I can never tell when people are being sarcastic on this forum, so I'm sorry if this ruins a joke or something: [small]The PS3 version, like all PS3 games, is region-free. You don't have to wait for a port unless you want it translated to a specific non-English language or can't purchase internationally for some reason.[/small]

I will admit, when I first saw it, my first thought was 'oh God a Japanese erotica game'. Now, based on just this description, I'm thinking it actually looks like a meaningful expedition into commitment and morality.
And I do like my meaningful expeditions.

And I also know which cover I'd be picking.
Seeing how it's the only game on the market that actually seems to be handling human sexuality with some aspect of tact and maturity, I hope it makes it here uncensored. I'd like to see a game that decided to include sexual themes without pandering to the 13-17 "OMG Boobies lolololol" demographic. The depictions of sex in something like God of Wars are only geared towards someone with either no respect for women/relationships, or someone who has switched the locations of their brain and genitalia. Being able to play a mature game without feeling embarrassed about the immaturity of the subject matter would be a nice change of pace.

Well of course it would.

Even if its the AO rating, I'm getting this game. This is right up my alley.
My (fairly baseless) predictions:

ESRB: M
PEGI: 16
BBFC: 15
ACB: MA15+
USK: Lederhosen
DHS: Elevated

No. Stranglehold isn't. But please don't ask me why the FUCK that is. Also, a LOT of 360 games are codefree, too. Don't own an xbox, so I never looked for a source to check on a list with region free games, but I suppose wikipedia is a good starter.

OT: *squirt* All I wanted was English subtitles, and I'll get provided with. I might learn Japanese just for this game, though.

I'm kind of worried that based on the plot synopsis Amazon gives I'm going to hate the protagonist. "Lying, cheating, lazy guy" doesn't exactly make for compelling hero material for me... maybe its weird, but I always thought a main character needed to be likable to a certain degree to make for a compelling experience. If I'm playing the game and I think he deserves everything that's coming to him, what's the point?

Still, Atlus tends to be extremely creative. At least a rental.
