-Almost executing Hahka when he was their informant, potentially stopping any chance of defeating the Helghast on Vekta.
-Breaking cover in a blind rage, alerting the guards and getting Garza killed when they could have taken Radec hostage.
-EXECUTING THE MAN YOU WERE SENT THERE TO ARREST SPECIFICALLY SO HE WOULD NOT BECOME A MARTYR, resulting in your remaining two cruisers, your only means of escape I might add, getting shot out of the sky by revenge hungry Helghast.
-Committing near genocide by irradiating a planet's atmosphere trying to stop one man.
There's probably more little shit things he's done, but these ones stand out.

Tingle makes far more sense within his cultural context. Originally, in Majora's Mask, he was a simultaneous reference to the "koibito" (children's character that gained popularity with adults, pretty much a Japanese equivalent of the "brony" phenomenom) and a rather scathing satire of the emerging social class of "hikikomori" (adult shut-in, usually a man-child). I actually used to own a copy of the koibito book but I suspect I lost it on my travels somewhere. Thought it'd be a terrifying thing to leave on a coffee table for people to peruse.

I think they could make a Metroid 4 (huge fan of the series) and have Samus die. Not because I don't like her but they could make a final battle in one game so that a loved character won't come back, a really epic battle... like a get boss to 50% hp and then have a 10 minute animated battle were she dies. Otherwise not really sure... I don't want Link or Zelda to die and based on the last words of the God in Skyward Sword that won't happen. Also no way Nintendo is killing of Mario, Kirby or DonkeyKong. Maybe Falco from StarFox? He's not the main char but he could get a heroic death.
I actually got slightly interested in the new season of pokemon because I heard they would retire Ash.....No such luck. Come on kid, you've been 10 for how long? This isn't neverland. And how many times will you decide on leaving all your good pokemon behind.
As for comic book characters, let's make it a rule of thumb that a comic book character is no longer allowed to die more then 2 times. I'm looking at you Jean Grey.
As for game characters, this might sound like blasphemy but I do hope Valve axes Glados. She's a great character. She's loveable in a psychotic manner, she got a surprising amount of character to her in portal 2 and she's endlessly quotable. However, if she returns for a third Portal I am very afraid she will just not be as good a character. We know who and what she is by the end of Portal 2, meaning there would be no more mystery surrounding her in a possible third installment.
Any Sonic character that isn't Sonic, Tails, Knuckles or Robotnik should be tossed into the woodchipper. Set the remaining character on ice for a few years, then come back to make a modern 2-D game.
And the Rayman Rabbits. God those fucking rabbits......

I am seriously beyond wanting him dead. A Marty Stu is annoying enough and plot armor only makes it worse but once you get your heroic death I expect you to stay dead. If you're the messiah you get one resurrection and then you're done. Idaho needs to sit down and let someone else take a turn - and I for one would appreciate it if he had the decency to die from something mundane just once; don't people ever eat bad shellfish in the future?

how about the majority of franchises? i don't want to see Halo 9, Final Fantasy 21, Call of Duty: Super ops 7, Super-New Super Mario Bros., Sonic The Hedgehog 1 (2021), Assassin's Creed: Let's Kill More People Edition, and so on. You get the point.

Every single southpark character. I want the town to collapses into a crater like Sunnydale at the end of Buffy. Also Sgt. Hatred from venture bros. They never should have made him a main character. And Captain Quark.

The whole cast of SR3. I hated everyone. They were bland and anoying. I really wished i could kill all those purple dressed clowns and start a new gang.
I don't think any characters need to be killed off completely, just given a rest until they can do something different (basically, when a new console comes along).
Nintendo do seem to get this much at least. At least most Zelda games are a little different (except for you, Twilight Princess. Go die in a hole.)
