You can, yes, but that raises the question of a few minor plotholes, like certain Bonds remembering events that transpired under a different Bond. Also, the classic series has established that Time Lords can only regenerate 12 times, which means the Thirteenth Doctor may be the final one, assuming that the BBC adheres to the continuity as strictly as they claim to.
On a side note, though, why kill the Doctor? The show is still interesting and ratings are still extremely high.
