I want this to come out NOW!!! I loved the original so damn much, I'm glad that Korra already knows 3 elements, because a repeat of the last show's formula would make the series stale and unimpressive. The setting is also closer to modern times, I saw an apartment building that looked a bit like one where I live. It's a great idea that they are trying to switch things up in order to distinguish itself from the original.

One problem though, I don't want to fucking wait until 2012!!!

First I thought "Oh, crap, another M. Night Shymalawhatever disaster." Then I realized that it was animation in the paused window for the Youtube video. Then I began playing it.

Chills. Chills down my spine. Not to mention goosebumps on my arms.

TLA was one of the best shows I have ever watched and I can't wait to see this.

Still kind of irked they didn't do some kind of TV movies with the original cartoon.

Clean up a few plot lines and such.

But this is looking pretty good, regardless.

yay, finally nice to see a teaser...cant wait.

also found this linked in related videos

seeing an old Aang and what i would think is Aang's son is pretty damn sweet..also Aang's son looks in his late teens to early 20s which is interesting since when i saw it was 70+ years in the future i would think he would be at the oldest middle-aged, (assuming Aang and Katara had the kid in their mid-20s or so). but this works just fine with me

The two problems i can see about this show

#1 It has biiig shoes to fill, and im not just talking about the Original Cartoon or to make up from the movie. They have decided to make it look more local and focused on the one city so they are going to have to ensure that the scenario dosent get old.

#2 The fact that they have stated that they are going to be starting from the character already knowing 3/4 elements. In the original Aang only knew Wind and less about his place in the 'verse, and EVEN less about the roll of the avatar. Korra is going to have guidance from the friends and family of the very recently passed on Aang. As well as the wisdom of her own learning of the elements, and the training from the best masters, Aang didn't have that he had whoever he could find.

Im interested and excited but those are the two big hurdles i see that they will have to overcome.
i just had thoughts about this series being the Dragon Age 2 of the Avatar franchise...thanks for sewing those seeds of doubt lol. I still think it can work if the city is large enough or at least FEELS large enough.

as for #2, I dunno its not like there couldn't be other challenges Korra needs to overcome with the whole "anti-bender" thing. its entirely possible for a more X-men-ish theme that can work but again who knows until it comes out.

Oh, thank god! Shyamalamadingdong has nothing to do with this, I thought it was sequel to the movie.

I never finished watching the first series, but I am exited about this. I like how the world is evolving in architecture and clothing and all that good stuff. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Wow, I actually had the urge to squee after watching that. Awesome. It's also a nice reminder of the evocative strength of music - the moment the ol' theme began playing I began getting excited.

Absolutely cannot wait for this.

Here's hoping well get flashbacks, like in the first series, explaining what happened to the original cast--and Zuko's mom. I know I'm not the only one bothered by that.
Who am I kidding? Of course they're going to do that. Ever since I read about this last year on this website, I've been excited about it. It's going to be one of those shows where my whole family will stop what they're doing and come watch T.V. together. Can't wait.

This makes me excited, but angry at the same time. I think I don't need to elaborate on my happiness. The reason I'm angry though is that it just seems like a show that should of been left alone. Then again it is a new setting, new "cast", and a new plot so it has potential. I'll give it a go.

As long as Mr. Ilovemovietwists doesn't have anything to do with it I'm happy, however...

...will it be better than TLA?

I hope so.

Ohmygodsoexcited.

I just re-watched all the original series not to long ago, and I'm seriously jonesing for more. I was blown away by the original's quality, writing, animation, voice acting, you name it, so I really hope this new series carries on that level of quality.

I hope they built that city on top of a filled-with-concrete Great Divide, so we can be sure it'll never, ever feature in another episode.

You aren't. Apparently they were going to make a short video of Zuko and his mom reuiniting, but decided not to do it.

But yeah, do want and have seen this trailer before. One thing I'd like to add though is that I find it interesting how they mixed "Zuko's theme" and the "Avatar/Spirit world theme" together. I wonder if that's supposed to hint at something...

Woah, you got me scared, when I read "M. Night Shyamalan" in bold, I thought it was going to be the sequel to the absolutely TERRIBLE movie.

Her appearance reminds me of the new version of Chell...
The pony tail, the white, sleeveless top, the baggy pants with an animal skin around the waist that echos the top half of Chell's jumpsuit and the large boots...

There's plenty of difference in the character design itself, but the profile is similar enough for it to bother me a bit when watching the trailer.
Its prolly the gamer in me being annoyed when a profile is too similar to other class models...

On the one hand, super excited for a sequel to the best series I've ever seen in my life...on the other hand...

Steampunk? Whyyyy???

Is it just me or is this slowly becoming more prevalent then zombies and 'ftw' in nerd culture? Look I get it, whacky steam-powered machinery and guns seem cool but does every freaking fantasy series, game or movie have to be moved into this?

I like medieval settings! Cliched or not!

Admittedly Avatar always had a bit of steampunk in it with the Fire Kingdoms machines but it at least still came down to people charging together with either swords or Bending.
