I can not wait.
The original series is easily one of the best cartoons ever, I hope this lives up to it.

Well I wouldn't go so far to give it a "punk" label in the first place. Anything of the "punk" genres implies fantastic and over-the-top devices build with the technology of a certain area. I don't think we'll see anything really over-the-top in the new Avatar series. More advanced blimps, cars, electrical lights. Nothing too fancy, just a natural progression of technology.Anomynous 167 said:You're right! The cut-off point of Steam Punk is the tech at the end of the Russian Civil War, past that is Diesel Punk (Which is where LoK is at).
Really? Where did you get that from? If anything I felt that it made little concessions for children. It addressed mature topics without really dumbing them down much, it treated teenagers and children as proper people.Casual Shinji said:I always kinda liked the first series, but it just seemed pretty bogged down in it's pandering to the teenage demographic.
Dear John, your overt use of hyperbole aggrivates me. Can you please tone down your language?John the Gamer said:Quick! Somebody build a timemachine so I can go watch it RIGHT F*CKING NOW!
I mean more in the behaviour of the characters themselves.Cowabungaa said:Really? Where did you get that from? If anything I felt that it made little concessions for children. Ah, well I never minded the behavior of the characters themselves. I mean they were in the right age group themselves, and they only really went into it in an occasional episode, the beach party one being one of them. What I especially liked is how their behavior changes through the show, you really see them grow up and having trouble with it. It all feels very human, very believable, including the teenage behaviour.Casual Shinji said:I mean more in the behaviour of the characters themselves.
Eventhough it's very much a fantasy world, the characters just behaved somewhat too contemporary for its setting. And then there was that whole beach party episode.
But like I said, I still kinda like the show. I loved how the elemental bending powers were used in action scenes: You never really saw the same move twice, there was always an interesting new spin on how the powers were used in fights.
And if there's one episode of this show that I thought was really good, it was the one were they all go see that play based on Aang's journey so far. It was a nice little introspective take for what place in the story each character really held, and the relationships they had with eachother. I don't know if this show ever won an Emmy, but if it did I hope it was for this episode.
