As many have already said my condolences go to the family of Brian R. Wood and I hope that his wife will recover from the incident without any further harm.

I'd also like to thank the Escapist for informing us of this as though many would wonder why you've reported on such an event I think that it is right that such news should be passed onto us just as any other news website would report such information.

Also to the guys arguing on the thread, would it be possible for you to either move your argument somewhere else or better still, end it?

I never played the games, although they look interesting. That's sad. We must do something to commemorate him.

You know a smart person would WAIT until the car stopped to take off their sweater. But then again, in this world, people are stupid and don't have common sense and so thus the concequences. My condolences.

Rest In Peace, Mr. Wood.

And a serious fuck you to this Jordyn gal. Three people are dead because of her.
Yeah.

That kid gets to grow up without a Dad because she felt a bit hot.

Seriously, I hope she dies.
That's a little harsh. I mean sure that was a retarded thing to do, but she lost two frinds too.

OT: This has given me the motivation to try and beat CoH, so I'll be off.
And it's her fault that they're dead.

Kill 3 people, you die.
I kind of agree, I hope she rots. She may've lost two friends, but she killed them with her reckless driving, as she killed him and left an unborn child who'll never get to meet his daddy.

She's ruined the lives of everyone who was close to all three of them, she deserves what she gets really. I say in situations like this just because she didn't MEAN to do it, it doesn't mean she should get off lightly.

Accidents happen yes, but there's a difference between accidentally hitting someone and simply getting high and flooring the accelerator.
What would be a more proper punishment? Death, a painless release... or having to live the rest of your life knowing what you've done, slowly going insane.

Sometimes, a life of realization and contemplation is the worst kind of punishment. Worse than death.

Not to mention, capital punishment is meant for purposeful crimes. For the insane that will not feel guilt and harm again. This woman is simply a fucking idiot, probably not some horrible person. The guilt will kill her more than lethal injection.

All the same... my sincere condolences to the families of those lost. My girlfriend and I almost got killed in an accident ourselves earlier this year, so when I hear about something like this, it always hits way to close too home...

And this is why capital punishment should exist. If a person is so retarded they drive around inberiated and/or high and get people killed its murder. And completley meaningless murder at that. No1 should have to go out like that. And ofcourse the murderer survives and the victims die, yeah karma is bogus.

Hope they execute that retard by stapling him to a grizzly bear or something.
They wont do that because that would be cruel and unusual punishment toward the bear.
Good point... She should just be tortured for a few years before they finally throw her into a pen full with half-starved pigs that eat her while she's still alive.
I sincerely hope you're joking.
Not at all, she must be properly punished for her idiocy and for her wasting lives needlessly and so pointlessly.
You don't really get the justice system, do you? She should be thrown in jail, or at most put to death. Torture? Really? No one deserves that, no matter their crime.

What an absolutely pointless and tragic way to go. Killed 'cause of someone else's mistake, a classic case of being in completely the wrong place at the wrong time. I always question why someone with no connection to such a stupid mistake has to pay the price.

I feel for his wife and unborn child. And I hope the driver lives with that guilt for the rest of her life.

I saw this on Steam earlier today since I just bought the games. One of the few things that's recently made me stop everything I was doing and just think about life. Rest in peace.

Dammit, I just started playing company of heroes, and it is a fantastic game

His death is such a heavy loss both to a great game franchise and to the game industry as well

Rest in peace

God, that's sad. CoH was on par with Dawn of War in terms of excellence, and that's a hell of a statement.

Here's to hoping that the judge throws the fucking book at the jackoffs responsible for this tragedy.

Jesus fuckin' Murphy. 3 Dead because one ***** who was probably high off of her rocker felt a little warm. Oh, and her friend gets just as much hate as Jordyn. I assume she was also under the influence of whatever the ***** was smoking.

How fucking stupid can people be?

I will take your last statement as a valuable one. If that turns out to be the case, I rescind my previous statement. However, if she was, as I suspect, on recreational drugs or even sober, I believe that this is what capitol punishment is for. I'm not calling for torture like some others, I only wish justice for this terrible crime.
I'm opposed to the idea of a death sentence if there was no murderous intent. Shooting someone in cold blood, stabbing someone after a botched mugging, or bludgeoning someone after a botched burglary then by all means bring on the capitol punishment. But lethal injection for doing something stupid and getting someone killed accidentily just seems a bit over the top...

Edit: I'm going to reinstall my CoH later on and see if any of my old friends are up for some skirmishing. Best way to pay tribute to someone is to enjoy the fruits of their labour.

So 3 people died because she wanted to take her jumper off?

What an idiot. Of course she survives too. Don't you just love how the world works.

I really hope the baby is ok.

Well this casts a shadow over my day.

Drop it with the death penalty, it's not going to happen. If she was drunk or intoxicated when this happened she can expect plenty of years in prison, both of them, which happening at age 21 her life as she knows it is functionally ruined, for what was an accident, even if it was under the most irresponsible circumstances imaginable.

I honestly don't think it's that big of a deal. Way more people die every day to drunk driving that don't get mentioned in the news because they aren't famous. Many more die from old age, and yet more die from hunger because food is scarce in their country. One person doesn't make a substantial difference to my life.

However, that does suck for the family and friends. People should stop insulting the drivers of the other vehicles since drugs were "suspected" and not proved. Are any of you going to say you've never taken a shirt off in a car? Grow up...

Have never played Company of Heroes, but I still send my deepest sympathies to his family and loved ones. No one deserves to die due to someone else's selfishness and stupidity, especially someone who was soon going to be a father. That child will grow up not knowing their father; I hope that Jordyn woman has that on her conscience her whole life.
