My work here is done..

So, my job of admiring it is over?

Time... to die...
Oh, God we're all Replicants!! o_O

The memories are implanted!!!
Well, that sucks. Do we all now have to be gunned down or sleep with Harrison Ford?
I vote for getting gunned down o_O

He's a handsome man and all, but if how he romances Rachel in Blade Runner is anything to go by, then I'd rather die in a hail of gunfire crashing through plate glass. Or rather my stunt double would :p

You know most of the time I have some tolerance, you know? Different tastes and all that.

But you either get this, or you are a terrible person.
I'm sorry Decoy. I shall run to the local rental store right now.

Right! TO THE BATMOBILE!!!

I am sorely disappointed in the number of people who've not seen Blade Runner. Sorely. Disappointed.
I saw it 3 years ago and I still couldn't recall where that came from.

Now that I know, it is a lot funnier.

How can people not know this classic Blade Runner quote? Terrible.

Here's the video for those who are too lazy to find it:

Also Duck Hunt works surprisingly well in this situation.
I would of been more pleased if this thread was just showing off that video instead of the comic to be honest :p

This is awesome. I actually totally missed the blade runner reference and was still pissing myself laughing. I then read it again and loved it even more knowing what you were doing.

Keep making comics for me!!

Blade Runner is 28 years old so I think it can be forgiven if you haven't seen a movie after it passes the double decade mark, regardless of how kick-ass it is. I mean really, how many great movies do you remember lines from that were released before you were born? And if you don't include Citizen Kain in that list you will re-open old wounds that have healed after being -required- to watch and discuss that movie not once, not twice, but thrice.

And yeah I didn't get it either.

"You're right, I did lose a million dollars last year. I expect to lose a million dollars this year. I expect to lose a million dollars next year. You know, Mr. Thatcher, at the rate of a million dollars a year, I'll have to close this place in... 60 years."

I don't know how quoting Citizen Kane improves my standing in this argument, but I felt challenged dammit!

I got all them dang references (though for the record, Blade Runner is not a family-appropriate movie, particularly if you have a purist dad), but where the hell was the punchline? How do a rampaging mob, a dying blade-runner-referencing nerd, and Duck Hunt connect? Indeed... given these parameters, can a Grand Unified Joke Theory even exist?

It's the death of a gamer. The ducks are free to fly, and the dog laughs. The final gameover.

I've watched it a million times, and I always remember it as, "Time enough to die".

I like it better my way.

That dog ruined the moment, Darned, someone should have shot the duck.
I'll admit that seeing the duck almost made me shout 'fuck', it would have been my first cuss since 2008.

Eh, depends on the movie, really. I can quote The Great Escape from beginning to end, along with pretty much every Sherlock Holmes movie Basil Rathbone ever made. And The African Queen and Gone With the Wind, and so forth.

I've actually never seen Citizen Kane. I've heard so much about it - mostly negative - that I don't think I could view it objectively and judge it on its own merits.

It's a turn on the quote from the baddie's final monologue in Blade Runner:

"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe: Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion; I've watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time; like tears in rain. Time to die."

I think I feel old.
Ah...that would explain why I didn't get it.
