With that, Dreth began trudging across the desert towards Legion, leaving a trail of rapidly drying sludge behind him. By now a layer of sand has begun to plaster itself to him, though Dreth does not seem to notice it anymore then the debris he was already carrying with him. As he began to near the metal colossus, Dreth began to wonder how it would respond to him.

A sigh escaped V's lungs as he nodded. He paused for a moment to reflect as Dreth started towards Legion's direction.

That went far better than I'd hoped. Dreth was far more reasonable than I would have expected. I think he and Legion will get along fine. A good rally point.

The fox slipped silently into the night. He needed to find Adtonitus. A conversation with his old friend would be necessary for his plans.

Legion paused as one of the elementals appraoched him. "Greetings," he bowed slightly, "I am Legion, the element of metal. Might I ask who you are." He was a bit alarmed at the diminuative stature of the elemental before him, barely coming past his knees.

Dreth looked up at the large colossus. It seemed friendly enough, but he couldn't help but be put off by the amount of metal. He had been around large amounts of the stuff before while in city ruins, but the metal there was worn and rusted. Legion's flawless metal body on the other hand seemed unnatural to him and left him wanting to change it somewhat.

But that was not why he was here. He was here to see if he would need to worry about this colossus in what seemed to be the inevitable battle...

The storm once again churned, this time an unearthly wind began to blow, flowing low across the desert, clouds of sand flying up around it's path which spiralled and twisted, unearthing both jotun and what other surprises lay beneath.

The Earthfather had stood as tall as possible to search for news his sister's fate, but now the winds howled around him and he crouched lower, bracing himself against the gale. As he drew nearer the ground, he surveyed the situation below him. His gaze fell upon the writhing form of the one that had come from the outer darkness, and the Mountain King's attention focussed in upon it

"What are you, little thing?" he asked, "Why do you come come here, to spread your darkness and death?"

"Well met, Dreth of Decay. An ally in the coming conflict would be welcome. While I have been hoping to find a way to avert the conflict, I know that finding such a path is almost impossible. Perhaps you could fill me in on what has happened so far and the other elementals that have arrived.

Tempest fought the winds to get them under his control again. This is almost as troubling as the war. What being more powerful then I controls the winds, and how can they do this and control the lightning as well? He thought as he flew upwards onto The Jotun's shoulder again. I will fight these gales as long as I can Earthfather, but even with my powers it is difficult.

V quietly trotted forward, not entirely certain where to begin looking. There were so many possibilities, so much that needed to happen.

The fox had always been a cunning creature, priding himself on his dealings. His subtle maneuvering. His art.

A time would soon come when he would need to call upon his art in all of its glory. He wasn't yet sure who would be benefiting from it or who would be targeted. He just knew that it would be glorious. That much he was certain of.

A dark frown smoldered over the beast's muzzle. A dangerous game was afoot, more dangerous than any previous. There was something unusual in the air. Something far more sinister than his siblings.

His orange fur rippled in a strong gust of wind, scattering the sands like a flock of startled birds. Perhaps the wind colossus? Perhaps...something else? It did not matter. The fox squinted and pressed on.

Dawn had to be breaking soon. It had to be. This night had lasted forever without any hint of daylight. The sun had to come up soon. The fox longed to feel the gentle rays on his fur, softly warming his body.

Two figures appeared in V's line of sight from a distance. One seemed to tower over the other, but both seemed smaller than some of the other colossi. V moved closer, trying to see if one was Adtonitus.

Mild surprise spread across V's face as the realization struck him.

Is that...Aphitrite?

It was.

He wasn't sure who she was speaking with but he moved closer anyway. Perhaps she had made progress since they last spoke.

Amphitrite noticed V approaching. She tried to move in his direction, but the winds were unkind to her small frame. Her hair and dress were lined with white foam from all the wind. Her movements were a bit erratic, with each step consisting of several stumbles.

This storm... what could be causing it? I've never seen anything like this before...

She moved closer to the fire colossus, desperate for some warmth from the cold.

"Hello again, V. Excuse my... lack of presence at the moment. There is something that is scrambling my powers... it hasn't affected you has it?"

Her luminescent eyes looked over the fox quickly, noting any differences from their first meeting.

"What have you learned from the other colossi?"

A familiar warm smile spread across the fox's face as he quickly sized up the situation. It seemed as though Amphitrite had come across Glacia, the colossus of ice. The fox and the ice queen had not ever been on friendly terms, and he expected that Amphitrite may feel similarly. Still, he chose not to acknowledge the avatar of cold for now. If she chose to act against them, V felt that combined they would be capable enough to put her down.

"Good evening Amphritite. I wish that I had better news to give. I'm afraid the situation seems dire. I spoke with Dreth, but he did not seem too receptive to me. He mentioned that he intended to ally with Legion."

The expression on the beast's face had shifted from pleasant to grim. He seemed pained by this knowledge.

"I am familiar with Legion. His lust for power is legendary. It was his element that drove mankind down their dark path. If Dreth starts working with him...well, I just don't know what to think."

A smile returned to V's face. However, it didn't seem as natural as the first. After a momentary pause, he spoke again.

"Were you able to speak with any of our siblings?"

Amphitrite sat down on the sand, minimizing her exposed surface area.

"I've spoken with the Earthfather and Tempest. Neither of them speak highly of you... they blame you for their misfortunes in this last cycle. I cannot convince them to spare you if you decide to try and govern the new cycle again..."

Her eyes watched the fox thoughtfully. How odd it was that although he was one of the smaller colossi, he had been a most powerful leader.

The pained expression returned to V's face. His dark eyes looked tired, as though centuries of effort and exhaustion had taken a severe toll. He sighed deeply.

"I'm afraid that governing a cycle is not all that it's cracked up to be. Watching beings that you care for deeply misuse a power that you entrust to them. I expected man to use my flame to create. To live. And at first, they did. They cooked their food and warmed their homes. It was all as it should have been."

The fox looked down at the sand, trying to avoid eye contact with Amphitrite. He speech was slow and measured, a stark contrast from the smooth tone he usually spoke with.

"I...underestimated their lust for power. The lengths they would go to achieve it. They missed the point of my flame. They had no real control over it. They could only see the destructive capabilities. I'm afraid that all have suffered because of it."

He looked back up at Amphitite.

"I have no interest in repeating that."

A trace of a smile could be seen on the fox's face.

That should be sufficient.

what can i say, shes a sucker.

Amphitrite smiled at the fox and turned to leave.

"Forgive me, brother, but the Earthfather calls me. I fear my absence has caused a most unpleasant squabble between brothers. I shall see you soon, V."

Better to be a sucker now. Makes it more dramatic later. ^_^

"Good luck Amphitrite. I hope that you'll be able to stop any unnecessary conflict. And if you speak to Adtonitus before I do, send him my regards."

The fox's tail whipped casually as his posture relaxed.

Nope, infighting would be the worst thing to happen to any of our happy little clans.

He chuckled to himself as he finally turned his attention to Glacia. He didn't speak at first, just to see if she had any words for herself.

"V is around?" Legion paused for a moment to sort through his memories, "Things could get complicated. As a word of adivce to you Dreth, don't trust V. I don't know much of Adtonitus or this Executor, though their presense presents some interesting variables to investigate. Do you know which element Executor represents? And then there's the Earthfather." Legion sigh and stared thoughtfully into space for a few seconds. "I had hoped to avoid him, but there seems little chance of that know. I will have to strike quickly and with great strength. His death will leave a great power gap, something that will have to be dealt with."

V casually paced around Glacia as he spoke softly, his voice smooth and dark as obsidian.

"Aphitritie is a kind being. She doesn't want long for conflict like some of our kind do, nor does she have any real interest in power. I respect that in her and honestly don't wish any harm on her."

V was sincere in this sentiment. He did truly think that the water colossus was a genuinely gentle being. He only hoped that he could avoid ever coming to blows with her. The fox knew that it would be a dark day if they fought. A dark day indeed.

"However Glacia, I don't know how much I trust you. We've had our...differences in the past. Understandable differences, no doubt about that. However, times are different now. I'm not interested in a fight, but will I be able to assume the same about you?"

I wasn't entirely sure what you meant by your last post bob, so I just kinda winged it off of what I thought you meant. If I was wrong, just send me a message and I'll edit.
