Isn't the point of having Arthas in the game that he's you know...supposed to die. Not much of an achievement then is it?

Blood Legion beat Ensidia this time, however, by six hours. U.S.A! U.S.A!
Don't forget, the USA got a day headstart. So really, It's not much of a beat.

Nooooo! The Dark Lord has fallen! Quick rally the scoruge and avenge his death!

OT: Well, the one thing Blizzard has feared has come to reality. There main baddy is killable. I kinda wanna see what they plan to add to the game now that Arthas and the Scourge can be defeated and after Cataclysm of course.
They're gonna bring back the titans, of course. After all, "this world is scheduled for revisitation". These are the guys that *****-slapped the Old Gods around. Sargeras alone was a match for the Burning Legion. They're gonna come back, look around, and say "Well, this planet is pretty fucked... let's nuke it and start over".

So he's dead now. Well I suppose that means Blizzard will have to shut WoW down now. I would love them to do that.
that would be one hell of an april fools joke.
I already can hear the fan boys/addicted players cry

That's what Algalon was for. He was there to detect 'systemic Old God corruption' and if you didn't kill him, he sent the signal to the Titans to purge the planet and start over.

Of course, it being WoW and an MMO if you didn't kill him within the 1 hour time limit you just had to wait 'til next week.

Wow, I pictured Arthas being more powerful but i guess that 10 people would be enough to kill a guy that can level Lorderon without breaking a sweat.
Go North America (USA and Canada) Horde FTW, suck it Varian!

The guild who gets Lich King 25-man Hc with hardmode shall be exalted... this nothing but 10-man normal

It wouldn't surprise me if the Titans had some kind of backup notification in effect, though.

Considering Algalon had successfully burned "a thousand thousand worlds" before Azeroth, I shouldn't think they need one. Or was it "a million million lives wasted"? Hang on, I'll go check his voice files again. Yeah, it was "a million million lives wasted" but he does mention about how he's seen "entire planetary systems born and raised in the time it takes your mortal heart to beat once" which also implies he's burned entire planetary systems. Either way, he's pretty hardcore.

They will probably pop over to find out why Algalon never came home though.

Well, I think the Titans would have learned that really bad stuff can happen to even the strongest people after Sargeras went rogue.

In case anybody hasn't noticed. There are three important things.

The first is which, that Ensidia, the guild that was responsible for the original first 25 man kill of the Lich King, was (all 25 people that participated) put on a 72 hour suspension and had their title/achievement removed due to a very odd bug making a grenade have a chance at rebuilding parts of the floor, making the encounter much easier. Weather or not it was exploited or not, it no longer matters because Blizzard took action. Paragon holds the "World first 25 normal" kill now.

This is just a brief explanation of what happened, you might want to check their website for any more of that information. Moving on...

The second of which, for those former World of Warcraft players who are surprised at how much of a short time the Lick King was taken down and other people who try to downplay the boss as an easy disappointment. Things have changed drastically since Original and Burning Crusade.

The biggest that you will notice is that all classes provide some sort of group benefits, and some classes have similar benefits to make sure that class stacking is not a necessity (For example, Retribution Paladins and Survival Hunters both can provide 0.5% mana regeneration when performing their attacks. this make it so that class/specs are not an ABSOLUTE REQUIREMENT, aside from y'know, the essentials like healing and tanking.)

Not to mention no 40 man content, the thought of assembling 39 people on time for a video game seems like a nightmare.

The other is that gear is now easily, MUCH more accessible in this expansion than ever before. Some might argue that it worsens the game, because gear was the standard in which you were judged. And it is true, there are some horrible players out there, that now have easy access to powerful gear that they use poorly unless they improve. But what needs to be understood that in ALL games, competitive, single-player, Turn based, there are alot of shitty players.

Other than that, because gear is accessible to people who WANT it, instead of toiling for months on end playing the game of chance. Gear, the definition of power, is available to anyone, and with power grants your player the opportunity to band together and kill a 7 year old character fallen paladin turned mass murderer turned undead demigod.

And being able to get gear to do those things now, is much better than going through 5 different raids IN ORDER just to gear 1-3 out of 25.

Holy shit that was a long post.

EDIT: Oh and another thing, The Lich King has 17 million health in 10 man, and 78 million in 25 man, and that's not including the lackeys. Your raid has to be consistent, and at the same time, deal with the curveballs he throws at you. The video showing the entire encounter is a total is 18 MINUTES long, which is one of the longest fights the game has ever made. This is no 6 minute boss.

He does, actually. You don't exactly kill him, he just realises you're stubborn as all hell, gives you the a-okay item and sods off.
Oh really? I haven't actually fought him, just listened to the voice files which seemed to imply that you'd killed him off.

Wait, if he lives why do you need to send the modified reply code? Why can't he do it? Slacker.
