A new game never rises to popularity that fast, so ya its pretty good. Not for everyone of course there is no game for everyone.A Fork said:Is it really that good?
I didn't enjoy Earthbound that much, so I'm curious if this game is like the epitome of story telling or something.
The game has a demo, try it out to see if the mechanics and story are your taste and go from there.A Fork said:Is it really that good?

"Good" is relative. I personally didn't care for it.A Fork said:Is it really that good?
It's a lot more like Mother 3 then Earthbound really. Earthbound is really charming but the plot isn't really there for like 90% of the game, until all of a sudden you've gone from pretty childish daydream to terrifying nightmare mode in the last area.A Fork said:Is it really that good?

Because people did, big time. Hell, I saw people on tumblr begging others who hadn't even played the game to go vote for it. And if you look at Undertale's voting pattern, I'm sure you'd notice a strange trend where it's even/lagging behind it's opponent before suddenly surging ahead.WolvDragon said:Apparently the people on gamefaqs are accusing reddit, tumblr, and other social media sites of rigging the votes in favor of Undertale. They accuse them of rallying people to turn out to vote in behalf of Undertale.
Of course not! This is the Internet and everything must be taken completely seriously!erttheking said:*Looks around*
So has saying what the best game of all time is always been something that people couldn't just sit down and have a fun time with?
I dunno, I think this website is kicking up way more of a fuss than it should be. I've been a member of GameFAQs for a decade now, during that time I've voted in more than 95% of their daily polls. I didn't really take them as anything that profound or insightful - it's mostly for fun. And their almost annual battles are just an extension to that, not something that would, or could, hold up as a really serious scientific research.erttheking said:*Looks around*

It very well could be (Though I doubt it). But a Gamefaqs poll is about as valid of a place to prove it as a New Zealand brothel is a valid place to discover the secrets of interstellar travel.Gundam GP01 said:Or it could be because Undertale is a genuinely good game.The_Kodu said:As a reminder. GameFAQs once voted the Tetris L block as the best video game character ever.A Fork said:Is it really that good?

So yeh that's says about how serious this poll was to an extent.
Probably better than Ocarina, too.
It's not nearly good enough for best game all of all time. For that, it would need to have at least decent graphics, much better music, and not use lame 4th wall breaking to be the "epitome of storytelling".A Fork said:Is it really that good?
