I have said it before and I will say it again, it's a game folks. GROW UP! If you personally don't like what the game manufacturer had created, don't buy it. If you don't want your sons and daughters exposed to images of this nature, don't let them turn on a TV, read a magazine, shop in the mall or look at billboards on the road. It is a known fact that, while some may take offence, SEX SELLS. If the makers of thesegames want to idolize and perfect what they think is attractive let them.

As for myself... I am a living, breathing, sighted american male.... enough said.

It is like Uwe Boll: I am one of the insane people who do watch and 'enjoy' his movies and to all those people who cry that he should stop making movies: He has his target demographic and whats wrong if he openly caters to them.
It would be of course an other issue if all the directors were Uwe Boll... Then I would be pissed.
Here here! Throw Robert Rodriguez and Michael Bay movies into the mix. They are both catering to a certain audience and have both been wildly successful, I can understand that...and I don't even like most of their creations!

I haven't seen any politically correct groups wave their banners at why Megan Fox was nothing more than sexy eye candy in Transformers 1 and 2. Maybe some people did take offense over it, but Michael Bay would've shaken them off like a bunch of ants on his boot.

That's basically what Yosuke Hayashi did here.

This is Team Ninja we're talking about. They raped Samus! What did you guys expect?
Team ninja had nothing to do with the script they only made the gameplay, the gameplay was really solid in most parts of the game.

I think they do the physics on each breast independantly, which can lead to one-boob-up one-boob-down weirdness.
I agree with the sports bra though, it just looks painful to me, having those things constantly clanging around.
Yeah they had that since DOAX2. It also also very very obvious in that game and very very ... weird. Getting motion sickness due to that is really weird >.<

Spot on, Yhatzee! Couldn't have said it better myself.
I'd go further and remind people, including the dev, how recently there was an issue with age of consent and child porn in Japan.

I remember them saying they wrote it. If they didn't then who did?

Also, I agree about the gameplay. It was actually pretty fun.

Your new avatar is made of menstrual blood, isn't it....

OT: I am pretty sure that jiggle physics are not part of any culture.

The only thing I am really surprised about is the outcry in response. I read this over once or twice and I really just don't see the problem.

They're making their characters attractive, so the hell what?

Fan-service is everywhere and anywhere, falling onto every group, all they are doing is following their demographic. But hey, maybe it was just the "this is our culture" card that everyone is annoyed about.

Oh god. Flashbacks to South Park. Ms. Garrison. Evolution. Filthy monkey sex with Richard Dawkins.
And his... breasts *now I can't sleep tonight*.
OH GOD.

Zachary, you son of a *****. Look what you've done!
Yeah, THAT'S the most disturbing part of your conversation. Not the menstrual blood paintings (*washes hands*) or the sexual mutilation, definitely the South Park reference.

Not necessarily complaining, just pointing out that you're kind of on a roll in this thread.

OT: Yeah, I believe Moviebob did a bit about almost EXACTLY this. It's like that Street Fighter asshole yelling sexual insults at that girl, and then claiming that sexual harassment is "Part of Street Fighter Culture", like that magically makes it OK.

I mean, ridiculous boobage isn't as bad as that was, but it's still very silly and outdated. I wouldn't necessarily call it sexist, just...incredibly juvenile.

I get the culture reference. If Hayashi is saying that they are just designing their characters after anime styled characters that's fine. However, I don't think that the Sexism Argument began their with characters outward design, and as a note I don't believe their is any point in arguing about whether or not sexy characters should be in a game.

To me this started from two Events. When Team Ninja worked on Metroid Other M they created a submissive annoying Samus. That brought them into the debate. They cant use "culture" as that argument because their are lots of Japanese Culture "Girl Power" counter examples. Then their was the nut job who verbally abused a Female Player in a Tournament which dragged the entire "fighting game" genre into it when he justified it with it being apart of the "fighting game culture".

Then using "culture" to justify the excuse will only make all of Japan look sexist. Japan has a real "up-skirting" problem. That is an unfortunate part of their culture. They also have a serious problem with women being molested in buses and trains. When you look at the size and scope of these problems we don't have anywhere near this kind of a problem in Western Culture. Then again we also don't have a problem with reporting murders as murders but in Japan if they can't find a cut and dry culprit then they just file it under "accident" a-la "Hot Fuzz". As my brother put it the country could be full of serial killers and you wouldn't even know. How's that for your "culture" argument Mr. Hayashi.

Correction. It's not Japanese culture so much as otaku culture which is being heavily pandered to. You see this with other similar industries like anime and manga: a large bunch of overly fanserviced / moe shit made to appeal to dateless guys living in small dark apartments not getting laid.

And I have nothing against it. I treat women with respect, but every so often my heterosexual wiring likes something unrealistically bouncy to drool over. Okay, Soul Calibur had better marketing choices than ivy's chest, but DOA has always existed on its perversity. Don't look for lame justifications to keep Anita Sarkesian off your back. Just admit it. We're perverts and proud.
