Does New Korean Game Rip Off Team Fortress 2?

Yes, but like I already said, that can all be called an homage for the purposes of a trailer stirring up interest. We literally know nothing about the gameplay, and yet people are continuing to assume that there will be classes. If you view the scenes without actually thinking about it as "X is a scout, Y is a Sniper", things actually look very different. Go in without your viewpoint that it is a ripoff, and the case for looks much smaller.
So you're telling me that the fact that every character that has a different weapon in there looks different just for shits and giggles and hype?

Considering Korea I kinda expected it to be about plastic dolls killing American shoppers... and then a nuke goes off! Jking. Anyway, it is a almost identical cinematic to TF2's style.

You have some doubts until FORCEFIELD AROUND HEAVY! and ONE-EYED BLOKE WITH REVOLVING GRENADE LAUNCHER WHOS BLACK! (Making him a robot doesn't excuse this)

Haha, they even ripped off the music style. I'm not worried though, it's a Korean game so that means it will be full of shitty anime styled graphics and a pay item shop.

I can understand using ideas from other games, as everyone is say, everything is a ripoff someway. But thye just copy pasted and added new skins. Come on, that is just pathetic.

Or has some perspective. I'm talking about unfounded assumptions. Everyone is assuming straight off the bat that this is class based, with no prior information. I'm pointing out that if you take away the rigid class structure, TF2 mirrors the weapon setup of at least 20 multiplayer games, offline and on, that I've played over the years. If the weapons themselves are pickups, loadouts, or anything other than a class system, then all of your claims of it being a ripoff is pure and utter internet retardation and fanboyism. And the visuals don't look that similar, this one is more an anime style.
That is a good point, game play being class based or class less is the real linch pin in if we can say this ripped off TF2 or if it ripped off TF2 and Unreal Tournament. Hehe...

Otherwise, I agree, don't judge a book by its cover and all that. Still, that video had me in stitches, it was like watching David Hasselhoff singing in german or something side by side with watching him in Knight Rider or whatever - so similar, yet so different it can't help but be comical ... you know, on top of the comedy put into the videos.

Oh, and the only stuff seemingly missing is Spy, Engineer, and Medic - so again, may make enough of a difference to actually be different in game play. Hehe, still wiping tears from my eyes from laughing though...

Ooo, they both have snipers - clearly it's a ripoff!

My personal jury is out until I see something more than just a tiny trailer, but all I see are two cartoony, class-based shooters, that's about it. I suppose it's inevitable that anything cartoony will be compared to TF2, but I don't really see this as a straight-up ripoff -- unless you consider any game with a cover system is a Gears ripoff.

A baseball bat is hardly a unique weapon. Same is true for a Gatling gun, flamethrower, etc.

I'm saying that every character in there looks different, period. You go online, design your doll, use it to kill. That was one of the first things that jumped out at me.
And that's very possible. As I said, I don't know everything about the gameplay. It's very easy to assume and guess at it being a squad based FPS, but for all we know it's an MMO.

And now, to sum up something I said earlier,

We're not talking gameplay, we're talking asthetic feel.

You're saying that it could be all homage to stir up interest. But that would be wrong. The video that Malygris posted there doesn't show everything. Check this out:

Seems you were right about it not being class based. It looks like it's either a badly designed 3rd Person Shooter, or a FPS that they used a 3rd person camera for just to advertise.

But it's plainly visible to see and hear that the sound and everything is just like it was in the more cinematic trailer.

That's utter fucking bullshit. It's a ripoff. Case closed. They can say all what they want, it doesn't change the fact that HAVE online is a ripoff of Team Fortress 2.

Their blind elephant stance is a very unorthodox thing to say, given that we've seen some gameplay in the promotional trailer, and we can already judge for ourselves, "Alright, it's a TF2 ripoff in third person." No amount of persuasion from SKiMedia will fix ANYTHING.

My advice, start from scratch, build from the same third person squad based combat with action figures, but build on it with more inventive concepts. Not ripping off other games.

Definitely some similarities, but as the developers said, wait until some actual gameplay stuff is released. The graphical charm is a noteworthy component of TF2, but its the addicting gameplay that helps it stand out in my opinion. I think I'd be just as addicted to TF2 if it was rendered with typical HL2 Source-style graphics as opposed to over-the-top cartoony style that it currently has (although I'm glad that it had the cartoons as opposed to HL2.)

Yep, it's a ripoff. Is this so surprising though? A while ago, I heard some friends describing the multiplayer of Killzone 2. It sounded just like TF2. Besides, we have several games nowdays that took the Gears of War formula and decided to impliment it in their own gameplay (read ripoff). This one just happens to be a bit more blatant. Just goes to show you: if you're going to ripoff a game, make sure you don't make it obvious in the trailers.

it is similar, but i think that valve should be proud that their game is so well received that other people are trying to emulate it, kind of like doom and all the doom clones that followed.

on a related note i do like the fact that most of the characters are female. I love TF2 but its a bit of a sausage fest, unless the pyro is female, which would be AWESOME! like a samus aran (sorry cant spell) throw back.

And I thought the Conduit was a blatant ripoff.

Anyways, if this closely resembles TF2 even in the gameplay, then it won't be successful. Who wants to play a rip off when you can play the superior original game?

Blatant Scout Rip-off
Blatant Heavy Rip-off
Blatant Rocket Jump Rip-off
Blatant Uber Charge Rip-off
Blatant Similarities to the "meet the..." trailers

Thats a total of 7
Coincidence?
