I'm actually interested in this game, even if it turns out as a direct rip-off.
There are women in it.

My point being here is it looks like if that Rule 64 picture was created by a manga artist.

Looks like TF2 if Gabe Newell had been a Korean with a fetish for school girls and Stik Fas figures...

Inspired? I think inspired was well and truly blown out the door when the one eyed chap with a funny hat and a rotary grenade launcher appeared.
Once the gameplay comes out we'll all know, but the only things missing were one that can turn invisible and one that can heal people.
This holds credibility.

All I can say is that every idea is stolen in one way or another from a different idea.

I'm pretty sure The Agency [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Agency_(video_game)] besides being a direct ripoff of the TF2 aesthetic will also play much the same way.

Why? Because it's a shooter. It's more storylines that are interesting me these days anyway so TF2 does not stand out prominently in the genre for me to have fanboy like desires to defend it from ripoffs.

That isn't to say I don't like mindlessly fun games but I don't like them enough to keep my attention.

You need balance in games. This one seems to at least feature logic behind why there are clones (or in this case figurines) of the same character fighting each other to the death for a seemingly pointless command post but then it features no logic as to why they have rockets, guns or are fighting.

All that's clearly elaborated is that they can be replicates and that makes a little sense.

This game looks like it but it may differ in core gameplay elements and the character design is absolutely not like TF2's.

All that I could possibly say is that this looks like a fun game, and all they are doing by creating this uproar is getting that game more players.

I however do not speak Korean so I don't particularly care, just be slightly more open minded, guys.

[sub]Gerazzi does not condone the slaughter of anime styled cartoons, he does, however condone really long posts[/sub]

The similarities are far too obvious. The smoke trail on the rockets, EVERY single sound, the style of the music, the character design (to a point, of course), some scenes are shot-from-shot taken from Meet The Cast, the classes/loadouts. THERE WAS A FREAKING UBERCHARGED HEAVY, FOR FUCK'S SAKE.
If you can't see the similarities, you must be a blind man groping an elephant.

Wait, the Korean videogame industry has put out something that doesn't embarrass itself?? When was this? Before or after countless crappy MMOs?
And this. What Korean game industry are they further embarassing? Oh well, sure, I think NCSoft is Korean and they make some really good games, but other than that it's all Diablo clones.

I saw a YouTube video the other day comparing the trailers of both games. Basically shows how 90% of the HAVE trailer is ripped off from "Meet the Team" videos.

I think there is more of an argument for TF2 based on the sole fact that it's traditional to rip-off good material. I remember that movie being terrible.

Obvious comparisons aside, it actually reminds me a little of the old Army Men games they made on the N64.
Blasphemy.

I loved that film.

I wouldn't necessarily call it a rip off but ithe trailers are a like. Other than that it's like all the other games. A sniper, a dude (or chick in this case) with a minigun, and a dude with a grenade launcher. Other than that it's just the way the trailer was shot.

Yes, yes it is.

Although Korea said that if we try to stop them from making the game that it's a declaration of war.

I kid. I kid.

realy it is. But I hate it when everyone bitches that about how games that use cover rip off gears of war or physics based weaponary are rip offs of the Gravity Gun and my favorite Tri-pods, I know games and movies rip off other games and movies but that's how it works.

Some developer finds some ideas from other games and then mashes them all into either a frankenstien-like monstrosity or a good game.

To sum it up in an anology that i thought of halfway into this comment, the problem is gamers expectations are unreasonable, when a cheif gives them a new idea for mashed potatoes they start complaining that the cheif rip-off the idea from Betty Crocker.

To be frank, it seems like they are just taking almost too much inspiration from TF2. Valve doesn't own class-based-team-shooters, granted, but at the same time, the similarities in the released media are too great to ignore. From the looks of the final clip shown, it seems to be a third person shooter. I feel it to be very unfair to call HAVE online a ripoff, but I honestly think they need to reword some of their responses to criticisms. They aren't taking their inspiration far enough if you ask me. If they truly want to work off TF2, then they need to think more outside the box.

When I first saw this trailer I thought it was a direct clone of TF2. Every time I see one of the countless videos comparing the two I think it's less and less of a rip. 80% of the comparative content I've seen so far is tenuous to say the least. Showing a clip of a sniper from TF2 and then one from this game trailers doesn't imply any 'copying'. If anything it emphasises the fact that the character models and animation are vey different albeit the same class (a class which is standard fare for FPS games).

I'll admit the heavy has a very similar animation style, but imagine yourself carrying an oversized and heavy gun and the way you'd walk would be very similar. The point being that if they want to produce realistic animation it will look similar as the movement style would be the same. The cartoony running is standard Manga style - there's no way you can class that as ripping off TF2. If anything TF2 have used a manga animation style for their characters so are they ripping off manga?

I think for an honest comparison of the games you have to compare the style, setting, characters (not classes) and audio. Also bear in mind that nobody public has played this game yet. I'm guessing it'll be about 30% drawing from TF2, but not a total rip.

If anything comparitives between these videos show up how much more polished TF2 is as a product. It makes you realise how much effort and skill has gone into that product.

Wow, there are a lot of similarities. And is it just me, or did the Chaingun Girl UBER? And did I see that Robot ROCKETJUMP?

oh dear... this is pretty much a direct copy, hopefully they will have the sense to change at least a few designs before it is released.
