Don't Expect Friendly Dragons in Skyrim, Says Bethesda

Considering we haven't advanced far enough in the artificial intelligence field to build a system that can think and plan things out, a lot of things still rely on RNGs. Hell, the gun system in Borderlands was just a RNG, but that got paraded around like a show dog.

I don't see why Bethseda gets so much flak for bragging about a new (to them) system that hasn't been in the last two game and could give people a better reason to walk between cities instead of just fast traveling.

Seriously, they can talk it up all they want, I'm glad they're proud of it. I wouldn't buy a game from a guy that was like "yeah, I guess the games kinda good. Probably not though"
My point was that Bethesda are talking about this system as if it's new. From what I've seen and read they have every right to shout from the rooftops "Look at the advances we've made!". I just don't like that they seem to be shouting "Look at what we've invented!". Seriously it's like a Battlefield 3 marketer revealing that the new Battlefield game about to be released is in ... wait for it ... first person! *gasp!*

I'm seeing a mod in the future that allows dragon riding... and for some reason Neverending Story and that family guy scene pops in my head...

YEEEAAAAA! YEEEAAAAAAAAA!

I am absolutely fine with this.
The more dragon slaying the better.
but what about slaying dragons with your bigger and even better dragon or even helping your own dragon to get bigger and evolve and fight other bigger dragons oh wait that would be kinda like pokemon ok you win this round.

Aww that sucks. But perhaps I expected too much awesomeness from them. I mean, it's just Bethesda after all.

Damn, I wanted some to be at least at little bit friendly.
Modders will probably find a way, though...

I didn't plan on befriending any dragons or darkspawn in the Dragon Age games and I certainly had no intentions to play nice with the targets in Skyrim, be they monster, bandit, overly keen guard, or NPC who has sent me on an irritating, unrewarding quest for the last time.

DEATH TO DRAGONS! (and anyone I feel I can get away with killing, for my first run, at least)

Oh come now....Everyone knows in at least every story with dragons there is at least one that is old and gruff with the "Stay off my Lawn" sign outside his cave

The guy skips around if one will be "Neutral"

Also will I be able to use pieces of these dragons? I notice they "evaporate" when killed...will I be able to loot em...I want a return of the Fang of Haynekhtnamet or to have it be a legendary...

Has no one noticed this? It's already been heavily hinted, in fact possibly stated, that there is a actually one dragon that whilst not friendly isn't just hostile and I think you may converse with and I'm pretty sure is very story relevant.

I think they are specifically saying no FRIENDLY dragons just so they can still slip in the story twist of a dragon you can actually speak with but that is definitely not on your side and to make most think otherwise so it will be more of a twist.

Well there's one massive gameplay possibility- probably as yet unheard of in games, that they utterly failed to capitalise on...

Oh well. Guess I'll just have to wait for some modders to make dragon taming possible. Clearly this news article is directed specifically to console gamers, who have never ridden their Akatosh mount across Cyrodiil, and will never pet their dragon in their back garden in Skyrim.
