I am definitely interested in the new controller, but I don't see myself buying Nintendo's new console until probably a couple years after launch and a price cut or two. Honestly, I could see the PS Vita doing SOME of the things that the new Wii U controller is going to do, so I wasn't completely impressed and WOWed. But people being impressed with the games coming out for the new console is funny, it's great that Wii only owners are FINALLY getting high def AAA games, but that doesn't make the line up impressive. All I have to say is FINALLY a Nintendo console can handle these types of games after 5 or 6 years of consoles being able to provide these types of game experiences.

Impressive? I guess to people who only play on Nintendo consoles. The rest of us have been playing these games for a half a decade.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Its all sorts of cool right up until you remember you've had an Xbox360 or PS3 for a few years.
Exactly, I dont get why people are excited with this, these game will launch on the other consoles, the ones that already exist for years. Also, Wii-U wont be released this year so some games will be launched later then the other versions. Nintendo seems to be always one step behind.

Even though I'm not interested at all in the WiiU or 3DS, I do feel that Nintendo Came out on top this E3.
This new console basically screams to me "Look we can play the same games as the other consoles now" I really dont think they where on top, not with the Vita and all the exclusives microsoft and sony have
Microsoft had exclusives?

WiiU, Me, Us? As a Nintendo fan the name is questionable, but everyone will get used to it if it doesn't change anyway.
At least it's not called Nintendo Vita. :p
Yeah, those folks at Sony aren't too creative.
PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4... etc.
I don't have a problem with Sony too much, I just hate the fact that they constantly wanna bash Nintendo. (yet they copy Nintendo lol)

I dont get it. So how many of these controller things are we meant to buy? Cos im sure they would be expensive if they have a 6inch screen on them... and yes, i know that you can use pretty much every nintendo controller ever made on it, but what about games which are designed with the Wiiu controller in mind? If youre playing multiplayer will your friends be at a disadvantage because you have the wiiu controller and theyre stuck with regular wii-remotes? It seems like a bit of a faff to me, and a total gimmick, but i guess we will have to wait and see!

As for first party titles, those look pretty good too. Super Mario Bros. Mii will let you play the game as your Mii, which sounds a little weird. There is also a shield game, where you block arrows and Chase Mii which looks like a sort of tag.
It was stressed several times that those weren't actual games, just tech demos.
You mean "Experiences".

That said for all the dumb stuff and even though the name sounds like a University for children I will still get one at launch.

Can these companies make a decent named console for once? Nintendo just named their system after the sounds the woman makes in Kung-Pow

"Chosen one! Wii-u wii-u"

See that is exactly why I am NOT impressed with Nintendo, the WIIUIIUUUIII!!!111lolol1! or their lineup. If its a new console, there is no excuse for them to not shoot BEYOND what a 5 year old console is capable of. Why exactly should we be cheering Nintendo for building something that technologically will be obsolete before its released? Yes the Wii was in dire need of an upgrade... But who upgrades from an 1988 Ford Escort to a 1992 Toyota Camry in 2011?

Just seems like a very bad idea to me.

Wii U..... Really? Really?!

That's it, I am definitely building a gaming PC now.
I know, right? A console with such a preposterous name cannot be good, because that would be so gay and unLeet.

I'm not bringing this up to be a dick, I'm genuinely asking this because I'd like to hear an opposing view, but in what ways do Sony copy Nintendo? The whole motion control thing was done on the Eye-toy years before the Wii did it, it just didn't have the full weight of a company behind it... And I'm pretty sure Sony were innovating when they kicked off all this craziness in earnest with the PS1...

Thats my view anyway, thoughts?

Nintendo guided me into the world of gaming and when i think about it, it still makes me nostalgic... though, i thought twice about buying the Wii and despite some titles, far from enough in my opinion, it was somewhat of a disappointment.

The new lineup sounds interesting, but what should i think if i read "they look just as good as they do on the PS3" but "why not buy a PS3 then"?! What does it say if a "next generation" console has about the same performance as one of the current generation? I read what will eventually be inside this wicked thing but i guess it won't be that impresive when the other next gen consoles get out.

Also, Miis in Super Smash Bros. sounds interesting, but looking at their last addition, a well playable arcade mode, this is nothing but probably another balance issue and if this is the only thing they add to all their games - you can play as your Mii now, yay - i fear titles like "The Legend of Mii", or "Super Mii Bros." where you can ride your Mii pet or something, or "Metroid: Just another Mii".

I guess this time i will have to think thrice about it and see what else they throw out on their way.

Rember all the jokes when the Wii was anounced? Nintendo just makes it to easy now.

Wii U sounds like the noise that girl from "Kung Pow: Enter the Fist" made all the time lol.

OT: Wasn't excited for the Wii, not excited for this. Nintendo seems so gimmicky nowadays it's hard for me to even care.

EDIT: the noise I was talking about
