I don't know whether to be excited or whether I should just sigh. Medal of Honor did bring a great improvement to the FPS genre when Frontline came out. That game was beyond awesome. The series could very well have continued to be a juggernaut if Rising Sun hadn't completely killed the momentum by being so bad! Call of Duty picked up right where Medal of Honor fell apart and, in my mind, is the worthy successor to the series. But apparently EA just couldn't understand that it was over and has continued to deface the Medal of Honor name even further. I don't know whether to say "EA what the hell are you doing?! Stop before you completely ruin Medal of Honor forever! NOOOOOO!!" or hold a tempered excitement. But in all probability, this will likely be a shameless clone of Modern Warfare 2. Damn you EA.

Oh this is just pathetic. They completely rip off Call Of Duty already to the nth degree, and now this? Seriously, this is worse than Chinese WoW clones.
While I agree this is a rip off of MW

MoH was on PS1, then had a MoH resistance on PS1, and then MoH AA for PC, before CoD came out.

Considering one could easily argue that Call of Duty [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BhUAnRceUCs] originally took "inspiration" from A certain Medal of Honor [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABEzZyAQs7Y&feature=PlayList&p=8270AA5947EC67AB&playnext=1&playnext_from=PL&index=1] I'd call that karmatically even.

Good fucking riddance to World War II. If we go a good 5 or 10 year stretch without ANOTHER WWII shooter it'll still be too soon. I'm quite curious to see how this goes.

And they were all damn good. But then that Rising Sun game came out and the series just when downhill completely.
Airborne was a travesty.
I actually liked Airborne, seems like I'm the only one

Great, ANOTHER modern-day shooter. Y'know, maybe there's a reason we were doing World War II for a while. Oh right, here it is, it's more fun to shoot nazis.

This goes to all who say EA is copying Activision.

The team that started making Call of Duty first made Medal of Honor games with EA back in the late 90s. That team then left EA, founded IW and worked with Activision to create Call of Duty. The Medal of Honor games since Call of Duty released were not the best but to say that EA is copying Activision by making a modern shooter is quite funny considering Call of Duty was the creative continuation of Medal of Honor: Allied Assault.

Not just took "inspiration." It was the same 3 guys who made that game made the original Call of Duty!

Why do people take offense when others try to copy what somebody else did and make it better? That is what World of Warcraft was. They took what was good in all other MMOs of the time and just did it better. For all you people know, the new Medal of Honor will take everything that is good about COD and make it better! The fall of COD is soon, games don't last more than one or two sequels before people get sick of it and move on to something else. Only the fanboys will stick to their guns and waste their money while the rest of us move on to a different better game.

I really hope they do this right.
I remember playing 'Allied Assault' back in the day and just loving every moment of the single player (Didn't get into the multiplayer, except at LAN parties). It would be great to see these old dogs freshen up for a modern take on war.
It's certainly easy to say they are just a bunch of 'Johnny-come-lately's, but there is potential here.
And now it's time to play the wait-and-see game.
(Or 'Hungry Hungry Hippos')

I don't have a good feeling about this. It's a bit late to be jumping on the modern warfare bandwagon, don't you think MoH? Especially since you were on pretty thin ice with most of your games so far, in my opinion anyway.

the MoH series got worse as it went along, unless something proves to me that this won't continue in that trend, I won't bother.

sigh COD and MOH is great and yea COD got the jump on Modern warfare gaming but MOH will most likely take MW2 and shove it up COD's rear end

Thats why you don't mess with veterans

You got that Activision
With all due respect to Medal Of Honor, I seriously doubt that. Not that Airbourne was bad but it wasn't particularly good either.

I know, but doing a modern warfare version seems a bit stupid at this point.

How about a Korean War Shooter? Or a Vietnam one? There hasn't been any good ones lately. Or perhaps go backwards, make a World War 1 shooter?

Or maybe they could actually for once make a game about a war that didn't have the Americans in it?

I'd happily play an Iran-Iraq war game.
Dude, it's a modern day shooter. Why is it necessarily a Modern Warfare clone? Current day shooters have been done way before the Call of Duty series ever existed, let alone before it stopped sucking off the WWII tit. We haven't even seen a single screenshot and you're already nailing it as a MW clone.

Great thing about modern day that no past time period can match is that it can be ANYTHING! We're living it now! Any story, any antagonists and any weapons!

Let's not start writing this one off as a MW clone till they announce the lead character is named Toap MacSavish ok?

PS: A WWI FPS would possibly be the most boring game ever, only surpassed by true virtual abortions like Desert Bus.

The quote unquote was implying sarcasm. Yes COD1 heavily ripped off MOHAA.

Easy: Fanboys.

Most people that aren't fanboys only care about this when the devs don't even try to improve. It's only a problem when it's a blatant copy, a cash in with no further intentions but to milk another franchise by proxy.

Every game nowadays draws inspiration from other games. How can they not? Most of it has been done before.
