We're a great friend of his, we like to think.
Does anyone else finds that hilariously ironic?

Despite appearances, EA claims there's no bad blood between it and its biggest competitor.
Then put your products where your mouth is.

Mass Effect 3. Battlefield 3. On Steam.

Problem?
Sure thing. And Valve can Put L4D on GoG to prove there is no feud with CD Project Red.

Problem?
i dont see why not, the more places a costumer can buy the thing the better. Altrough i do have a bit f a problem with naming. GOG stands for Good old Games, and left 4 dead is neither.

"They have different terms and conditions that they put on their games that don't meet what we would like to do with our gamers. They insist on being a layer between the game developer and publisher and the consumer. They take a piece of the revenue stream. And they don't allow us to go directly to the consumer to do patches and updates. So we just agree to disagree. It's not a feud. They have their terms and conditions. We do. They don't meet. So we go do what we do, and they're doing very well at doing what they do."
Steams terms of service dont let you spy on your costumers. "Oh not their terms and conditions does not fits ours we must make a scandal out of it".

aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand a month later EA picks a fight with Valve. Just like how EA said Origin would never have any sort of sale!

This reminds me of that kid in school that loses a fight he starts then claims he wasn't serious and that he was joking around.

Good thing too because Origin is no even close to touching steam.

No. EA's feud is with it's customer's and fanbase, not with any other company.

See their target market want good games for fair prices, but their voice isn't as valuable as the voice of shareholders who demand higher quarterly profits at ALL COSTS!

EA said they won't bring games back to steam without their bullshit DLC money-hoover like the Cerberus Network where you have to fork out so much more money to get the whole plot and character development you thought you paid for already when you bought the game.

"There's no feud," Moore said, speaking at Gamescom. "Remember, we're the guys who published Left 4 Dead and Portal 2. It's Valve. Gabe's a great friend of EA's. We're a great friend of his, we like to think."
That's strangely similar to "I'm not a homophobe - I have gay friends."

And I'd very likely play Battlefield 3 if I could run it through Steam, but I can't so I won't. It really is that simple; I'm *NOT* using Origin, EVER.

Moore's plans for Origin's future involve making the platform "stickier," adding more value to the users and their gaming friends. "That's our goal. We've got to make this the place you want to go to to play your games, find your friends, buy your games, interact with the games themselves. We're building community layers in there each and every month as it develops. You'll see updates all the time. It's got to enhance your gaming experience in simple terms. That's our job, to be able to do that."
You don't just "build" a community like that. I honestly can't think of anything they could add that Steam doesn't already do. And if they did manage to come up with something, Steam would just implement something similar and everyone would use that purely because of social inertia.

Did anyone else read this sentence and think that EA are now diversifying into human slavery?

Oh, lovely. This ticks all of the P.R boxes:

(1) Damage control statement.
(2) Reiteration of initial criticism/introduction of further criticisms.
(3) Passive-aggressive tone throughout entire statement.
(4) Positive spin/self-promotion to conclude the statement.

That's some really nice work, guys. Let me have a go at that:

(1) Of course I don't hate all German people! You just misunderstood me when I said that! I have lots of German friends, and I like to think that they all like me! (2) Seriously, people like you misunderstand me all the time. I mean, even though their country WAS responsible for the holocaust, and they WERE all nazis at one time, you certainly can't hold that against them today...right? At least, I know that I certainly don't.
(4) Anyhow, I'm actually off to Germany next week. Yeah, that's right. Going to visit Auschwitz and all of the other memorials while I'm there, too. It's just the right thing to do, you know, in a country like Germany. And I always try to do the right thing.

I read this and visualise the EA spokesperson while sayin 'there is no confilict', seeing in the background EA employees undergoing gruelling gladiator training with many fatal accidents and someone else building a giant death ray, badly.

There's no feud between the King of Digital Distribution and the smelly ne'er-do-well peasant that is Origin. No feud at all.
