It seems juvenile to me, that people make such harsh assumptions of EA, when at the end of the day, they just want to make Money.
I fixed your statement for you. Hate to break it to you, but EA is profit driven machine. Same with Valve. Maybe at the core, the developers want to "make great games" but in the end, all that counts for EA (Or any profit driven business, for that matter) is the bottom line.

But I realize the hipster mentality infests the masses of forum posters, so I humbly request you don't quote my post and call me a troll, wish me imprisonment, or in any way try to make me feel small. Cuz that's what I have had to deal with for quite some time now....
A tip: Calling out the "masses of forum posters" as having a "Hipster mentality" does not win you over with said posters, including this one. If it walks like a troll and sounds like a troll. . .

Bottom line: You want to take sides, cuz you think things are simple black and white issues. I don't think they are. EA doesn't want shit games. Don't you get that?!?!?!? Nah, you probably don't.
EA wants to make money. EA doesn't want Valve to make money. It's called competition. Competition, in and of itself, is basically a feud between two "people". That's pretty much as black and white an issue as you can get.

Yeah EA, I believe you...

This changes nothing obviously because you are still evil.A sad kind of evil mind you. The kind that genuinely believe they are nice which makes it all the tragic.

Nice backpeddle EA, real nice. You know you can't compete with Steam so just sit down and shut up.

I think the title is incomplete. You forgot the "...because Valve has already long since won" part.

What I don't understand is just why origin is so bad, I refuse to believe that only incompetent people work at EA. I mean there most be some employee somewhere looking at steam and saying to his superiors "hey guys how about we do something like that?" But no they just refuse to listen to sense.

Who said there was one EA? Why are you bringing this up? Ever heard of the Barbara Streisand effect? How about "thou dost protest too much?" Keep digging that hole.

The thing that makes EA so fun is they are being comic villains because its like they don't understand economics. They would earn way more if they just focused on being nice and helpful toward the consumer but by doing there anti consumer stance they make them self out to be jackasses, and as such receive less purchases.

I spent at least 5 minutes thinking you were saying that multiple EA's existed. I feel like a complete idiot. You were even pretty clear. Its entirely on me.

Despite appearances, EA claims there's no bad blood between it and its biggest competitor.
Then put your products where your mouth is.

Mass Effect 3. Battlefield 3. On Steam.

Problem?
But if Battlfield 3 were on steam....That would mean I wouldn't have to open up my web browser to launch it, and that would be a TRAVESTY!!!!!! /sarcasm

Did anyone else just get a mental image of two brothers in the midst of a fight when a parent walks in, and each is now trying to totally pretend that's not what they were doing all along?

No? Just me, ah well, I'll be off giggling to myself in that corner over there, don't me.
Except for one is just sitting there while the other one is raging. Honestly, Valve is the most chill when it comes to its competitors. When EA and GOG said that the salves Valve did were hurting gaming, they slipped a note to the media saying "Yeah, you see these numbers? Yeah that is triple the profits this game got that is 2 years old once it went on sale." And then EA and GOG shut up about it.

EA plays the "Light the poop on fire, get caught and then throw it on someone else" game and they pretty much tried it with Valve but failed to do any damage so now their pretending that Valve is picking on them [again] to look innocent when honestly their really, really dumb.

Notice no one seemed to point out the big, bad, evil EA published Left 4 Dead and Portal 2...
EA didn't publish them, instead they were distributed with the help of EA which is not a publishing position. Try again.

I always wondered why EA published L4D and Portal 2 on consoles if they supposedly despise Valve, I mean, why help your rival?
EA did not publish L4D or Portal 2 for the consoles; it helped distribute them (retail only).

Why help Valve? My guess would be to make money since EA is a business and by distributing for Valve they can reap a small percent of the profits. If EA refused to help Valve then Valve would just find some other distribution company. EA has nothing to gain and Valve has nothing to lose if EA refuses to distribute retail copies of Valve games.

It's all just good business.

At least Moore shows some signs of knowing vaguely the right things to say. Have they finally gotten DeMartini tied and gagged in a closet somewhere?

No feud with Valve? Really? Then how come I got a pass code for a discount from EA on my birthday that said "Not valid for purchases of Valve games" on it?

*Those weren't the exact words, obviously. There was a short list of things it couldn't be used for, and Valve games was on that list.
Naming out Valve games specifically? Yeah, no feud at all going on. None whatsoever.

"We're not looking for a fight" says the mouse to the cat.

No surprises there. In the area where they are competitors, Valve is the big one with the muscle to cause trouble.

I only ever used Origin to try the mass effect 3 demo once i'd finished playing i went to uninstall ME3 (then origin), told origin to remove the game and all it did was pop control panel.....seriously?!?!??! I haven't installed origin since then, mostly because of the prices but also because origin is terrible to use compared to steam.

And as to them being friends, what sort of "friend" attacks their friend over having sales like every other online/offline retailer?

Hmm,,, If Valve are so against updates directly from developers,,, How can ArcenGames keep posting patches for AI-wars once a week through their game? StarTrek Online uses its own patching system to...

I know right? Clearly we have all been imagining this feud and are all crazy or something.
