After hearing of all the things that are being improved in ES V I've simply stopped playing Oblivion.
That's just because we haven't heard anything about ME3, they're too busy touting DA2.BeastofShadow said:OT: Sounds great. Loved Oblivion and this has actually over taken ME3 as the day one buy for me for this year
Because Mysticism was more or less a "miscellaneous" category. My guess is that the different effects will be placed in different schools, like Detect Life to Illusion, Soul Trap to... alteration, maybe? Telekinesis to Alteration, dispel to possibly Restoration, and the various buffs to Alteration. Sound good?Ivan Dobsky said:>85 different spells in 5 schools

Why, Bethesda?! WHY?!
Eh.. whatever your answer is, i blame consoles.
If you read the rather lengthy source post it mentions that none of the spells form mysticism are supposedly gone but they have been split up amongst the remaining spell schools.Ivan Dobsky said:What are you talking about? Mysticism wasn't useful? That's some crazy talk. Also, i find cutting options, in general, being bad too. I miss Morrowind and levitation, and i will miss all the spells Bethesda will cut off.BeastofShadow said:Are you complaining about the reduction of options or are you a member of the 0.000000000000001% of people who actually found a use for mysticism?Ivan Dobsky said:>85 different spells in 5 schools

Direct quote from the source.Longtime Elder Scrolls fans may notice that the school of mysticism is absent. That's an intentional move on Bethesda's part. ?It always felt like the magical school of mysticism ? isn't that redundant?? Howard says. The spells formerly housed under the domain of mysticism have been moved to other schools of magic.
I think it'll be more like Fallout 3's stealth, where, if you made a loud noise while not being seen or made a shot from any weapon, silenced or no, go by the enemy, they would go into Caution mode, where they were trying to find you, but didn't know where you were. After a while, if they didn't find you, they would go back to being unaware.Madmanonfire said:Oh snap! The game requires actual skill now!
Anywho, the alert state sounds nearly exactly like Assassin's Creed. Good news all around here.
I did, mysticism was great to suppress your max lvl. You only get so good before you get no stronger in a lvl and the NPC's keep getting stronger. Otherwise its useless as old hellBeastofShadow said:Are you complaining about the reduction of options or are you a member of the 0.000000000000001% of people who actually found a use for mysticism?Ivan Dobsky said:>85 different spells in 5 schools
