Hmm I don't really believe this, espcially the neck problem thing. I used to have a 'emo' haircut and even though your hair is covering your eye you can see out of it pretty well. I guess after a long amount of time it would have an effect but I'm pretty sure most people grow out of the emo phase before any lasting damage.

Woah now, that was just uncalled for, who the hell gets to decide what haircut is stupid. I could bang on about popular hairstyles of yesteryear but I won't.

All hair cuts are stupid. Everyone should let their hair grow and our leaders can be the ones who can beat their rivals to death with their mighty, hefty hair.

Remember, kids, it's up the road not across the street.

What are Emos, anyway? The kids who weren't cool enough and too whiny to be Goth?

As hillarious as a dystopian future with full of ' half blind, stiff necked teens with stupid hircuts occasionaly bumping into each other' would be it's a shame that it is'nt going to happen Would have been a good laugh though.

Unfortunately, MSNBC had to go and ruin all the fun with their "facts" and "research." They contacted one Dr. Leonard Press, who responded with the following:
DAMN YOUSE, LIBERAL MEDIA!

Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Pfftp, I had long hair before it was main stream!

But yeah.. I take it these people have never had long hair then, since you can actually see through it.. y'know.. hair not being sheets of steel and what not.

Just wanted to add that the first day I went to a hardcore show and saw one of these fellows, the first thing that popped in my mind was "uni-bang" and I've referred to it as that ever since. I understand trends and all that, but turning mosh pits into an evenly spaced out battle against invisible ninjas? That part just never sat well with me.

This just in: living the emo lifestyle can be detrimental to your health and ultimately end up ruining your life as you clutch a pillow and cry yourself to sleep while listening to Linkin Park's In The End because no one understands you nor gives a fuck that you're different. :p

These kids today. Back in my day if you wanted to piss off your parents you wore a liberty spiked mohawk and liked it!

And for people assuming all emo's are hardcore wrist cutting angsty rebels, we're not, typically people who act like that are posers doing it for attention. I like the style, I love the music, and emo is short for (and who would've known this) emotional. We're caring people(I have a lot of friends who have the emo style too), and a helluva lot less judgmental then some of the responses I just read here.
Way to sound exactly like a stereotypical emo. You've got posers, emotions and the infamous 'we don't judge' statement.

OT: Let them have a lazy eye then, who gives a fuck, since when has health and safety ever had a place in fashion? I thought being an emo was old now anyway, I only ever see one or two occasionally, I thought everyone had left it behind.

My roomate and one of my best friends, got his vision impaired from the emo-cut. He wore it for the better part of three years when we was 13-15 to 16-17, completely covering his right eye. Now, at age 20, he has perfect vision on one eye, and a -3 on his right eye.
