So I don't need to go to a hairdresser this instant? Lovely, it still can be longer :p
Too bad my hair is so curly that those emocuts aren't even possible without straightening my hair, which in turn is very bad for your hair.

Well lucky me can still get away with long hair, don't know for how long I'm gonna sport long hair though. It is kind of a hassle sometimes, takes a lot of time to get it remotely right and never stays in place. ( thanks for the curls mom :p )

It's called an emo haircut?

I just thought it was the style people used when they wanted to hide their gender.

Got to love all the stereotyping and uncalled for insults getting thrown around by a bunch of self-proclaimed nerds... Especially on forums where threads routinely surface about how shitty everyone's schooldays were due to stereotyping and uncalled for insults. Le sigh.

I'm not an emo, incidentally. I don't care for the look or the music myself, but then again I'm a metalhead so I'm hardly in a position to lecture anyone about style.
gotta agree with this. I'm also a metalhead, and I can safely say that long hair, even in your face, really doesn't impede vision that horribly. Seriously.

Ugh. Terrible 'reporting' Escapist. Next time just write "I don't like emo people. I don't have any reason or logic to back that up but me no likey"

Welcome back to high school :p

Maybe next time you could try letting only the intelligent people talk?

The more likely injury risk is either sprained/strained neck muscles or joints stemming from the constant need to flip the hair out of one's eyes, or possibly a mild concussion from the same.

Don't worry. In thirty years the emo flip will be as embarrassing in retrospect as the mullet is today.

So, The news story has been proven wrong, Why is it still here? All there is to discuss now is how much you hate/love emo haircuts.

I thought it was an odd article, too.

I wonder how many studies there have been lining emo hair cuts with bed wetting?

I love these scare stories.

I don't see how it'd cause lazy eye. Speaking as someone who had emolicious hair that often covered one eye, somehow I could actually see through my hair.

I dunno how to describe it, but yes, I could see beyond the hair covering my eye. Sure, it got in the way and obscured my vision somewhat, but I could still see stuff in front of me with that eye alone. Not only that, but I was also capable of (gasp!) switching which eye was the one being covered on a daily basis! And not only that I could (double gasp!) move my hair so their NEITHER eye was covered!

So frankly, I call shenanigans.

OK, the eye thing I can maybe buy, but how does the emo style result in a stiff neck? Unless your hair happens to have a disturbingly high weight, how can a hair style result in a stiff neck?

As for the style itself, meh I have no problems with it. The only issues with the emo style is that so few people can actually pull it off without looking stupid.

What...what the hell does being emo have to do with a "stiff neck"?

That...has absolutely no relation to anything else in the article. At all. Could anyone explain the connection here?

Em ok that's nice and is disproved. I've already had my fill for slagging emos back when Kerrang would constantly playing "The Black Parade" at everything single fucking chance it got. It isn't even their best song for fuck sake. Then they moved on to "Rockstar" but I digress.
