Got to love all the stereotyping and uncalled for insults getting thrown around by a bunch of self-proclaimed nerds... Especially on forums where threads routinely surface about how shitty everyone's schooldays were due to stereotyping and uncalled for insults. Le sigh.

I'm not an emo, incidentally. I don't care for the look or the music myself, but then again I'm a metalhead so I'm hardly in a position to lecture anyone about style.

Woah now, that was just uncalled for, who the hell gets to decide what haircut is stupid. I could bang on about popular hairstyles of yesteryear but I won't.
This.

Grey Carter's articles are opinionated as shit, try and give an unbiased, objective article for once.

Remember, kids, it's up the road not across the street.

What are Emos, anyway? The kids who weren't cool enough and too whiny to be Goth?
the best description would be "emo's are the only people that goths can beat up"

Boy, I sure love me some videogame news!

This site is getting as bad as Kotaku.
I agree. "News" here is 90% sensationalism and random crap that has nothing to do with anything even slightly related to video games. The other 10% is so heavily sourced that the given links often reveal the article is a literal rewrite of something another site published much earlier.

Grey, objective? Unbiased? Does not compute. But seriously, the guy doesn't know how to report news for the life of him. Ever try and criticize the guy? He ignores every word and tries to make a joke of you. Read a few of his articles and see how "well" he deals with anything but people fawning over his crap.

Nerds are nothing if not extremely judgmental. Superiority complex and everything. Here on the internet, it doesn't matter how big someone's muscles are, the person with the better brain is the "superior" one. And there's a bit of a hypocrite complex too, as they whinge about being victimized through their entire formative years so they're justified in victimizing other people.

Of course, sometimes people are simply that caustic. There are plenty of people who go "It's the internet, why should I give a damn about what I say?" and then proceed to spout off about anything and everything they don't fancy. And there are the people who are really that way in their normal, every-day life too, and those are the people I typically try to avoid because they're going to be severely critical of every little thing that isn't exactly to their liking and they're probably difficult to get along with in the first place.

I treat how I post on the internet in a similar way to how I speak in my normal life. I try to avoid being needlessly inflammatory or harsh, because I see no positive side to it. Anybody who is in the group being criticized won't care what the person has to say, because it's the internet and the chances are they're saying it in an extremely stubborn and brash manner.

But then, there are still people who won't tolerate other people because of the color of their skin, or because of their weight. [sarcasm] Why should people tolerate others' styles or video game choices? [/sarcasm]

"My parents would like me to have a haircut," declared "emo cut" owner, Hamish Harrison, 17, "but I'm not cutting my hair at all."

I'm too busy cutting my wrist.

I always knew there were health benefits to a classic buzz. Sweet vindication.
His name is Hamish Harrison.

Hamish. Harrison. He sounds like he should be wearing brown wool and herding sheep, not talking about out nobody understands him except Skrillex.

Hmm.
I always liked Emo haircuts when the person doing them really had straight hair. If you're murdering beautiful curls to have a dead cat on your head, you're doing it very, very wrong. Curly hair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> spaghetti hair.

That's the case with most news reporters on the Escapist, sadly.
Especially Andy.
Reading the Escapist for fair, balanced and unbiased gaming news is a bit like watching Fox News for their strong support of Liberal values.

My right eye is extremely sensitive to light, so I wear my (fabulous) long hair over it.A minute of two of exposure gives a burning feeling & tears stream town at an alarming rate.
What am I supposed to do, wear an eye patch? The pirate thing will wear off quickly.

These kids today. Back in my day if you wanted to piss off your parents you wore a liberty spiked mohawk and liked it!
The best thing about Mohawks is they only ruin other people's vision in mosh pits.

Maybe you should see a doctor rather than prescribing yourself with a haircut. Or are you joking around and because it's the internet I've hilariously misconstrued what you meant. It's just that if exposure to light gives a burning sensation then there is something very very wrong with you and my concern is outweighing my fear of looking like an idiot.
