The emo hate here is just making me laugh. Does it honestly matter if someone else chooses a style you don't like? It really doesn't affect you. I do agree some emo's are posers and do the whole thing for attention but some of the hate is just unreasonable. I know a lot of people considered "emo" but they aren't depressed. They just like the style and music.

Bleh. I hate the whole 'emo' movement in particular.

No offense to anyone that's into that sort of stuff... but I just find some of it a tad bit... excessive, and in some cases a bit stupid. Maybe it's that the stuff you see on the Internet tends to be a lot more exaggerated and glorified in real life, but from what I've seen, it looks like a lot of overcompensated bullcrap that's trying so hard not to conform it stops being edgy and revolutionary and becomes idiotic.

Wait so the hair doesn't have anything to do with Emo Phillips? I always thought it was named after him.

Everyone has clearly missed the important part of the article.

The phrase "emo chap" must become the norm.

Ignore the hate - it's the same for every generation. I grew up in the 90's and wore ridiculous baggy clothes. People hated a lot on that as well. If you're different the insecure will try to become in-group by sharing a dislike for you.

This is great for the scene! Just another thing to mention in all of the sad, depressing songs.

How could this happen to me?! My hair has made me lose sight! They make me get it cut, I just want to fight! My life is dark and the damage is done...being a bald headed loser with a lazy eye is no fun.

I have one of these haircuts, however my hair is naturally straight and blonde, so after washing my hair I flick it to one side and it stays there all day, instead of having to spend the 45000000 hours others do to straighten it. It is rather easy to tolerate and see through.

The lazy eye thing seemed stupid to start with, and responses by others have already denied it. I mean, it is hair, it isn't completely blocking out all details of everything, unless your fringe happens to be an inch thick.

I don't understand all the hate though. Should I even mention what fashion was in the 60's through to 80's?

Give them a while and they will grow out of out, for finding a job, or becoming more mature. As for me, my hair is always like this because of its length, and how my hair is. It doesn't stay right of I part it, so until I get another haircut (which I am due for soon) it will stay like this.

While I do hate "Emo Haircuts", I can understand why one would find it appealing. At least amblyopia isn't that bad, at least you can still see well with both eyes open, plus you can look at bright things with your damaged eye as much as you want.

*Sigh* I went through a similar phase once. I wasn't emo at all, but I kinda did my hair like that weird woman from Captain Planet. It was cool for a while, I guess, but then it was mostly annoying, especially when I started driving. Then I started getting into art more seriously and I had to drop it altogether.

So you could say I grew up a--

Wait a minute!

So what if you have a guy who lost one eye in an accident or whatever? He WOULD have only one eye to rely on 24/7. Does that mean his one good eye is just gonna "go bad" too? how is that fair?!

Captcha: Look away. Oh, the lulz of serendipity.

I don't enjoy when the cut turn's shaggy, and truth be told this cut is probably tied with the buzz cut for the most idiotic wearers in my location.

Other than that I don't judge, my mohawk fringe sometimes gets in the eyes too

Ah man that made me laugh :D

I don't care about this emo stuff at all; it looks quite silly -- in my opinion --, but to each his own, I guess.

Good day everyone!

Does it matter? I mean they're going to kill themselves anyway...
Oh man that was a bad joke, but seriously kids, get a real haircut
