Off the top of my head, I'd KoToR 2, Ghost in the Shell, and Cowboby Bebop.

Everyone is going to hate me for mentioning Bebop, but I truly disliked it. I loved the ambiguity of it, but the pacing was so rushed and haphazard, it killed what could have been a truly epic experience.

I absolutely detested Heavy Rain's ending, don't get me wrong, the overall story is very well done and interesting in it's own right, but as soon as they revealed who the killer was, I was downright pissed.

Sorry, but when you body jump between 4 player characters, those people become the only 4 who could NOT be the killer. I guess I could see the father being the killer since that is alluded to several times, he would just make a terrible final boss (what, do I have to fight the temptation to commit suicide? That's what he would've done). But seriously, when the detective turns out to be the killer the whole time, I practically turned the game off there. The only people who could've realistically done it would've been the police chief / FBI dude's boss (I forget what his job really was) or the crazy rich dude who said he was the killer but was really just screwing around. Except neither worked because the 4 different player stories didn't intersect with them. I don't think the reporter or the detective ran into the police chief, and the DT was the only one who met the crazy rich dude. Anyways, I was pissed, a quarter of my play time was spent helping a murderer cover his tracks, BS!!!

As for my own endings I didn't like, I'd have to say the conclusion to Avatar: The Last Airbender. Yeah, the main plot got wrapped up, but there were so many questions left unanswered.
Actually I kinda agree with Avatar. It was fine for the main plot, but I wanted to see Zuko's mom and it kinda seems like Zuko quit being Fire Lord in the final scene, though maybe he was just visiting his uncle and helping out with his tea shop (showing a much more humble character). I would have loved a small "And this is what happened to everyone in the end" summary during the credits. What happened to the Earth King? Last we saw he was apparently going on a journey to see the world. What about Azula? Was she simply imprisoned like her father? Was Jet really dead? Incidentally, I loved when they made fun of that in the episode about the play. And what about his friends? The members of the White Lotus? So many unanswered questions.
Ah, but you can bet that The Legend of Korra will be answering ALL of these questions. I had many of them as well. Betting there are going to be a lot of flashback episodes--like Avatar had--showing what happened to everyone and how things went down.
I know, but that is only a small consolation. Without it, we'd get nothing. I've heard a little of what happened to various characters in the aftermath. For example, Toph traveled the world teaching the art of metalbending. Awesome! She even had a daughter that is in charge of the security/police in the city that Korra is supposed to take place in and is herself a master of metalbending.

Also, I just saw Immortals the other night, and while it was pretty good, I didn't like the ending. I'd explain, but I fear even in a spoiler tag, it'd be too tempting to read, and I don't want to spoil it for those who hadn't seen it yet. This is actually what prompted this thread in the first place.
Oh dude that immortals ending was terrible, all that build up. Then again i didn't find the movie that great , some cool action sequences but the movie lacked substance.

OT : the twiling book ending sucks
nothing happens! Just like in the rest of the 4 books

movies? The three muskateers , the ending was very anti-climactic and predictable

Video games? Legend of dragoon. Something more recent? Dark souls. I love dark souls gameplay , but the good ending was just so underwhelming , i mean comon , give me a decent cut-scene at least.
Yeah, I probably won't watch it again. Especially due to the terrible ending that just pissed me off.

But aren't the Twilight books/movies just plain bad anyway? I mean I watched the first one against my will and hated every minute of the predictable drivel. As soon as Jacob mentions his family is supposedly descended from wolves I was like "He's a were-wolf!"

Considering all the spoilers untagged so far and the title of the topic, I actually do mind.
:\
You have my support. That's why I added "(Expect Spoilers)" to the title before I submitted the thread. I didn't want people to feel forced to put their info in spoiler tags because that would ruin a large chunk of the discussion value. People can do it if they want, but they don't have to.

God of War III

Spent the whole game chasing after Pandora's Box - only to find that you had Hope (this annoys me) all along. Not only is it a poor show spending an entire game chasing something not needed (did Kratos not find it curious how he was killing Gods?), the entire last custscene is lazy drawings and a torrent of exposition spoon fed as it wasn't delivered or seeded properly.

Then I realised I don't care about the story and restarted the game to slay all the Gods in the fantastic set pieces that were created perfectly, so it all balances out.

I did not care for the ending of Portal 2.
Care to explain? If you're going to criticize something you may as well give a reason why.
I'm guessing he didn't finish Portal 2 (trololololol) But seriously I would love to know how such a good ending that wraps up everything in a neat bow in time for a Half-Life/Portal mashup game (HL3 you know it) could be considered 'flat'?
here's the ending for anyone that hasn't seen it
for those who want to skip the witty and hilarious boss fight dialogue skip ahead to about 3:45 to see the end of the fight/game.
Also to add the discussion I'd have to say... minecraft, I still don't know if that's a troll or not from Notch I have no clue I seriously tried reading all that text in the dialogue while the credits rolled but my brain imploded from the pure wtf'ness I wouldn't say I hated it, I am just confused about why Notch would do such a thing :/

Arkham Asylum. seriously, the entire game is a build up to a confrontation with the joker, though you know he's going to pull some trick out of his sleeve since a fair fist fight wouldnt exaclty make for a lengthy battle.

but then... that? really? that end boss was just terrible, then the final cutscene effectively says "and nobody was hurt and everybody lived happily ever after"
How does the final cutscene say this?
Half the characters are dead. Hugo Strange, Ra's, Talia, Joker, Clayface...

As for endings I didn't like, plenty of them. Though I really didn't like the ending to 'Her Fearful Symmetry' by Audrey Niffenegger. Not that it was bad, it was a very well conceived ending, but was sinister, didn't sit right with me (while I'm not opposed to 'unhappy' endings, this was downright evil)
He said Asylum, not City, thanks for not reading the post properly and spoiling a game I was really looking forward to...
Please edit your post so nobody else makes the same mistake

Since most of the things I'm talking about have been out for years, I don't think I need to hide these.

Show:
Justice League Unlimited

Earth is in the middle of an alien invasion. Old heroes from previous episodes are showing up, and the big bad guy Apocalypse is having a showdown with Superman. Lex Luthor shows up offering Apocalypse some universe altering glowy thing (I can't remember exactly what it was just that it was important)and both super-villains disappear in a flash of light. You know that neither of them has been killed or even incapacitated and yet that is where the show ends.

Video Game:
Star War Force Unleashed

You have beaten both Vader and the Emperor and have them at your mercy when your mentor tells you not to kill them. You have the Star Wars equivalent of Hitler's life in your hands and you choose to spare him because it would not be nice to kill him? The whole scene smacked of the game writers adapting a fanfic only to realize that they couldn't actually say it took place in the Star Wars universe because it would be blatantly non-canon.

I take it you didn't like The Matrix ending either.

Black ops. Whatever faults the game had, I generally foudnt eh game intriguing, what with all the codes and stuff. However the ending stuck me as silly. The way you come up and the WHOLE DAMMNED US FLEET IS SITTING THERE BECAUSE FUCK YEAH AMERICA!

Just no, if you're gonna make a game on lies, deception and mindfuckery, you don't end it with a giant american flag atop a fleet of battleships.
Meh. The story was piss poor to me, mainly because I always loved those Cold War stories of people being reprogrammed into sleeper agents so the whole story was obvious to me.

But the way you just click and remember everything, then you're assigned to the mission that will end it all? It would be disappointing to not take part on the ending, but it's a lame excuse to bring the protagonist into that ship.

The rock music with the whole US Navy waiting for you only added insult to injury.

The wedding of river song. Well, it kind of gave away the ending, and the alternate reality and the silence stuffs were cool, but all of the actual plot was terrible.

Apollo Justice's ending was bad, two piss easy presents and you win the trial?! Fuck you game...

And as for the jury decision at the end, why in the name of biscuits would i knowingly drop my win? There's Non Standard Game Overs and then there's "i'm gonna knowingly fuck myself over for no adequate reason HERP DERP!"

It's a good game don't get me wrong, but it's the worst of all the Ace Attorney games for sure.
You completely missed the point of the game ending in that fashion.

Anyway, I hated the Death Note ending as it had many plot holes and was simply awful. HOWEVER, if the series had ended at episode 25, it would have been perfect.
[DISCLAIMER]I'm going off on half remembered stuff here so bear with me.[/DISCLAIMER]

I think the final choice in Apollo Justice, specifically the Guilty verdict was based on the fact that the only reason Apollo won was because of Phoenix's changing of the Justice System.

So basically you choose Guilty due to lack of evidence against the witness... I think

But seeing as you're fucking over Apollo (the protagonist) and Phoenix (the much loved protagonist of three Ace Attorney games) i still see no reason to vote Guilty. As an Ace Attorney fan it'd be like punching myself in the face for no reason.

Plus the last trial was seriously lacking the fire and intensity that all other Ace Attorney games have pulled off awesomely... I say again, two piss easy presents.

I guess it's all to paint the big bad in a "lol you can't pin this on me, you have no evidence therefore those two pieces of evidence are the only things you have" kinda way. But at the end of the day the Jury was voting Not Guilty and therefore indicting the witness as the killer was because the witness being a bit of a dick

Am i way off? Or is that the general gist of it?
It's about justice, what is right, and what is truth. It isn't a matter of "who do I like more", or "do I want to win"; rather it is a matter of "is it truly justice to commit this man to prison based on what we have?". It is undeniable that the evidence would have been unsatisfactory in the old system, and that that old system is what lost Pheonix his job in his fight for truth. However, if justice true in court? If we say yes, then he is not guilty, however to say no, then how can we condemn him in the courts?

Biggest letdowns for me would have to be:
The Matrix Reloaded and Revolutions
Borderlands
Fallout 3 (the original ending)
and lastly, F.E.A.R 2. Who at Monolith came up with that crap?

Sucker Punch
....I was expecting a sad ending, but that ending made me go "WHAAAAAT?!". Basically, she got lobotomized. And then, the psychiatrist that was helping her was like "I really don't think this was needed", and the doctor goes "But...You signed the document for me to do it...See?", and then as the main antagonist of the movie is either about to rape/beat/whatever to the now comatose main character, cops bust in and arrest him.

Now...here's my issue. If the Psychiatrist's signature was needed for the lobotomy, then how did she not go "wait, I didn't sign for this" BEFORE the procedure? Then again, I'm mostly upset that all of that effort still landed the heroine a fate possibly worse than death, and it was so damn easily preventable. >: (
Okay gonna spoiler this so I can explain it properly
The Lady didn't sign for the procedure the main antagonist forged her signature, you can see at the start of the movie when BabyDoll's father is complaining about having to pay extra for him to forge the signature for her to be lobotimized (he wants her to be a vegetable so she is no longer eligible for her mother's inheritance which I'm guessing was a large amount) and the whole point of her being set free but never escaping the asylum was when she was lobotimized, her mind was set free (hur derp so deep and meaningful derp derp)and she didn't have to suffer from her guilt from killing her sister and the trauma of living in the asylum for the rest of her life. The movie is called Sucker Punch for a reason ;P

Well, Neverwinter Nights 2: MotB had a crap ending. Almost the entire point of the game was to destroy "hell" as it were, but
You never even get the chance to destroy it! The god of the dead just says "no, go away", and that is pretty much that. You don't even get a choice in the matter.

Also, The Mist (movie version) had the most stupidly depressing ending, ever. Halo 2 had a crap ending. Phantasm had a decidedly less than good ending (can you say "sequel bait"?). Those are all the ones that immediately spring to mind...

The Soul Eater anime,
I'm under the understanding that the manga continues and the anime ends as such because of studio funding problems, but I still lament that the ending, or even that last segment of the show couldn't be as good as the first half or so.
Ive got the full series up stairs but cant bring myself to watch the final few eps... my bro told me whats happens... it was really good... surely there was something else they could have done in the little time they had?

I'm a huge Darker than Black fan but I just watched season 2 (Gemini of the meteor for those playing along at home) and was very disappointed in the ending. It just went way too quickly and things were being rattled off one after another regarding characters that had never had time to have been fleshed out. Also I just finished Death Note and
Was really disappointed/astonished that Light lost to Near. I know he was the "bad guy" but c'mon

Bleach- The out come to the Espada/Aizen big war thing...
after all that random fighting we get to the chapters called "decide". Basically 20 chapters of Aizen camping it up in butterfly dress while Ichigo's human friends run around panting only for all the interesting characters to be completly forgotten and Ichigo to show up and pull a bloody hax move on Aizen. I WAS DIS-A-POINT!!! I know Kubo said he was having trouble with it and that he was proberly under pressure to continue the story so SJ could milk it for more money but COME ON!!! The second Bleach film had the same stupid problems what with an immortal that cant be killed unless you stab it with a sword (WHO'D HAVE GUESSED?!)... Kenpachi's awesomness couldnt even save that film and he was in all of 5 panels in the decide chapters...

and dont even mention Gins out come... FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Starcraft 2.
Some deus ex machina crystal that releases Zerg-killing shockwaves is used on Kerrigan, but rather than killing her, it just magically turns her back into a human... who somehow still has Zerg powers. And then Jim Raynor carries her naked, unprotected body on the surface of an "OMGINHOSPITABLEINTENSEVOLCANOHEAT" planet.

Resident Evil 5
Wesker goes from being a super fast, teleporting, nigh invincible badass, to a writhing, slow mass of tentacles, just so that he's nerfed to the point where it's possible to kill him.
