meh might rent it. I'm sure its a good movie, but its just not something i give a shit about. I'l probably spend most of it hoping she does go insane and does something creatively crazy

As for watching a movie for that "one scene" .... no, just no. You don't watch 90 to 120 minutes of crap for a few minutes that are not. Sure you can check out the scene later bye it self. Also bob might sound like less of a perv or a pig if he didn't point that out every single time. I mean i know your trying to appeal to a crowd of sexually frustrated nerds (or indulging your own nerd side) but give its a rest. Yes I get that this movie is worth watching on its own.

The entire world has been talking about this scene. Bob would have been remiss if he didn't talk about it. Just because a few of you people aren't comfortable about sex, or hearing someone else talk about sex, or hearing someone justify that sex is actually integral to the psychology underneath the film, doesn't mean that he should censor himself for your benefit.

TL;DR:

Big kid discussion going on here. If you can't deal with that, this movie probably isn't for you anyway.

I hear nothing but good things about this movie, but I just don't feel like watching it. I mean, I would, because the premise is intriguing, Arronofsky is a hell of a director, and I can never have enough of Clint Mansell's music, but I just don't feel like going out of my way to go and see it. I really don't know what it is. It doesn't seem like a bad movie, but I don't see myself watching it. Plus, I see that it is only in Los Angeles, but I live forty east. Not a fun drive. If it becomes more locally available, I'll check it out.

I'm probably not going to go see this, I honestly haven't even heard of it and it's not playing in any theatres around my area so I probably won't have a chance to see it.

it really is that bad, methinks.
But the review is otherwise pretty good, as usual.

So why is it taboo to mention a movie should be seen for its sex scene?

Well, because there is PPPOOOOOORRRRRRNNNNNNNNNN on the internet. If I want to be titillated, I do a google search for naked ladies. Ifa movie has it, since I grew up in both pre and post internet, I know when a movie is trying to sell tickets with "sex sells". I find it as the movie is trying to "trick me", so to speak.

If it is a nice bonus, then yea, I won't complain, but like in your review, you pretty much made it the MAIN FOCUS! Like your hypnotised when you see boobs on a movie screen. That something I always not liked about you movie bob, between this and the gameoverthinker, when it comes to anything that has to relate to women, you LOSE YOUR SPINE ENTIRELY! You don't actually look at thing logically anymore, but rather a form of chivalry. So long as your on the side defending women, regardless if that side is logically actually right or wrong to do so.

Any movie that ever tried to sell me because of nudity, I knew I could get a lot better deal with google. an hour or a half for at most 10 minutes of naked, or could I just spend a hour and a half using google search engine. So why are seeing "movies for the sex scene" consider taboo? That would be because its pointless, and put there for horney teenagers that can't get porn else where.

Good to hear that the movie has several high points besides the lesbian scene, and that that scene actually means something. I can probably already guess what it is suppose to mean.

HOLY CRAP, it's Andrew Stanton's birthday?! Awesome, that guy rocks! WALL-E is my favorite movie of all time, and in my opinion, one of the best movies ever made!

I wasn't too sure about the John Carter movie he was making, though, but I will DEFINITELY check it out!

Wow, great review as always Bob. This is the first I am hearing of this movie and I am glad the info about it is coming from Bob instead of some rubbish press release or commercial or what have you.

Needless to say, not being a big ballet fan something entitled 'Black Swan' doesn't exactly catch my attention, but I clicked it anyway, because its MovieBob.

It is not at the top of my must watch films list. I must say you do a good job of selling things bob, well to a gaming community anyway. I am not particularly familiar with the director, but once you mentioned 'The Wrestler' my interest was raised; but far from peaked. You completely sold me in the 'second' half of the review. This is exactly what I am looking for in a movie.

Essentially its sounds like a really gritty movie with ballet laced on top, and thats fucking awesome.

Oh and I completely agree with just liking something because its sexy or whatever, sometimes you just need to be blunt. If its a hot scene, call it that, don't glaze over it or call an apple an orange.

Once again great review bob, you have got to be amoung the most consistent high quality reviewers going, and I say this as someone who has been a fan of GamerOverthinker since the single digits.

Well like i said this movie doesn't really need it, sure its a part of the move and i don't really mind it here. Its like discussing basic instinct without mention the interrogation scene or the opening. Personally i don't mind, i'm probably a bigger freak then most people here any way. Problem here is that bob is usually so annoyingly immature about this stuff. He usually sounds like a little kid who found a playboy.

I want to see this movie!!!

Mila Kunis... *drool*

I'm just glad it's good enough outside of the girl kissing that I can justify seeing it without sounding like the "objectifying" guy Bob was talking about.

In all honesty, MovieBob, I was interested by the time you dropped Darren Aronofsky's name. Aronofsky is one of my favorite directors and, naturally, Requiem for a Dream is one of my favorite movies (a favorite, but Christ is it depressing[/i].

Still, I didn't have a bloody clue what movie this was a review of until it was mentioned that Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman were both in the cast. From there the realization sunk in, and it was just a matter of waiting for the accent to drop...

My biggest issue with "that scene" is simply this:

OMFG ITS 2 GURLZZZZ: Its a point in the film's favour.

OMFG ITS 2 GUYZZZZZZ: Its a point against the film.

As far as I'm concerned, I'm sick of the double standard surrounding same-sex scenes used in films and the overblown reaction one way or the other towards them.

I liked the looks of the movie since the first trailer. But I'd be lying if I said that the love scene isn't the biggest reason why I'd go see it as soon as it gets to theaters in my country. I'm not a fan of horror movies myself but that's because most of the don't do their job right - they don't scare me. This one looks like it shouldn't scare me, it should intrigue me. That's a whole different kind of horror movies. I like those.
