My copy is either coming tomorrow or Friday. Have heard of people saying about bad bugs in games I have owned or do own, and I have never encountered them (Red Dead Redemption had some minor bugs, but they disappeared when I installed the game to my hard drive. Might do same for New Vegas).

Halo Reach was buggy? Never noticed any bugs in that game. Lag online, yes, but nothing else. Thought it was really well made.

Remember when games didn't need to have bug fixes right out of the gate? That's ridiculous, the game isn't out here yet and already it needs patching.

Best part was the music. Don't care if that isn't actually the soundtrack at that point, the maker of the video nailed it for atmosphere. If it IS the soundtrack (cause I'm not going to find out till Friday) then that just makes it even more hilarious!

That was kind of creepy. I have been playing for a couple of hours and haven't found any glitches yet (knocks on wood).

How bad is it, hun?

As a point of reference, I don't think I noticed a single bug in Fallout 3.

I hear the big issues are crashing and a terrible frame rate on high-end machines when the player goes near NPCs.
You must have had a special copy farted out from gods ass since that game glitched like an epilepsy victim at a rave. Sometimes the sun would collapse a looking in the wrong direction would cause the fabric of time and space to rip before my eyes.

If one glitch (not happening in every game mind you) that is being dealt with the utmost haste is a deal breaker I'm sorry miss galactic queen overlord may I bring in some more young virgins for you to eat?

I know your engine is nice guys but if its suffering from this many bugs maybe you need to rwrite some stuff. Yeah I know it will set your game schedule back but imagine how happy people will be when your game isn't randomly crashing every few minutes.

I'm seven hours in and the only bug I've had is a squad of flying NCRCF escapees.
Why can't I get these bugs!

All I get are game freezes.

and then I read how horrendous the game can be.

Smooth move, Obsidian.
Actually, this game is quite the return to form in all aspects of the game except the engine of course. A lot of people are saying it's the game Fallout 3 should have been. The writing, the story, even the tense battles, it is all wonderful and definitely worth buying.

...get it on the PC though. Modding community and all that.

Once upon a time, I was upset that Fallout New Vegas was coming to America first, but I am actually happy for me and feeling sorry for you. Bugs for you, patches for us. Sounds good to me.

Absolutely pathetic that they still can't be fucking bothered to fix the myriad glaring bugs in their games.

THE FUCK WAS THAT!

Whenever I play a game I never get obvious glitches and that may be why this so damn freaky but holy hell!

Uhm anyway, hope they fix stuff before I get it!

Maybe someone has already pointed this out in this topic, but I'm not going to bother reading through all the posts.

If they're coming out with a patch so soon, why didn't they delay the game a few weeks to make sure it doesn't immediately need a patch? They had to have been aware that the game wasn't stable enough to be released yet. Releasing it like this is just going to cost them business.

It's a good thing Obsidian make fantastic games, if they didn't they'd never be forgiven for the bugs. It's on gamebryo though so when we spot problems we'll be able to fix them ourselves pretty sharpish. Roll on unofficial fallout new Vegas patch.

nope, never been such a time. until the mid nineties you only got bugs fixed if you bought the next issue of the game.
During the nineties it stayed the same for consoles but PC users could get fixes from magazine disks. and in the late nineties the internet brought us day one patches.

We have it good these days, at least the bugs get squashed eventually.
