More like 'Because FFXIII was such a good idea..."
I preferred X-2 to XIII. When I say preferred, I mean X-2 was the greatest game ever when compared to XIII, in my opinion
THIS.
I can understand FFX-2...because (IMO) FFX was a great game, second only to FFVII as far as the 3-D FF's go. I even kind of liked FFX-2. It had some charm. Horrible characters and an atrocious plot and storyline, but the battle system and music made up for it.
However...I cannot get past the fact that FFXIII is/was an AWFUL game, by far the WORST in the franchise whose only purpose was to introduce new players into the franchise without even trying to endear itself to returning players, and it even failed at that. How does that a sequel make?
By "improving in every way" I hope they start by completely reworking the battle system, and I hope the adventure field mechanics are severely improved upon as well (that is to say, NOT walking down a hallway for 3 hours).
Maybe take a look at when your games were actually good, Square Enix? Maybe you can pick up a few pointers.
Will DEFINITELY be looking at same gameplay trailers before even THINKING about renting/buying this.
