I don't see why they would need more than 2 disks, I mean these are the people who fit Final Fantasy VII:Crisis Core onto a 1.8GB UMD. That game had the PSP's best looking cutscenes (and there was a lot of them), arguably the best graphics (depending on the style you like), oh and its freaking long. They should spend 09-10 on just compressing and swapping the language.

I hate disk changes
Good for you. You must also hate pressing the ON button, or turning on a controller...if you haven't got the patience to change a disk every 10 hours of gameplay, why bother playing a JRPG?
Yes pushing one button compared to...

Lets see here and remember I can make EVERYTHING seem long.

disk change needed
putting controller down
throwing blankets off body
standing up
walking to the tv
leaning over
opening console game tray
grabing game case
putting disc inside the case
taking the next disk out
putting that disk in
shutting the console case
walking back to the bed
lying down
covering self with blankets
picking up controller.

See thats 16 steps! OR, I could just play the whole game through on one disk... like I have since the PS2 era... yeah.

EDIT: Also lets add into the fact how much of a damn story breaker it is "getting close, getting close, getting close, PLEASE CHANGE TO DISK 3, FUCK YOU GAME!" (Probably) not likely to happen, but hey. Ya never ever know.
you might be the laziest person i have ever seen
It was a god damn joke, apparently people on these forums lack the brain capacity to tell when something is done in humour, especially in the News Section.

If not wanting to change the disk makes me lazy then go fuck yourselves alright, technology has advanced beyond that, you know what. you can walk to places instead of driving or riding a bike or catching public transport. So it'll take longer what are you lazy? must be the laziest person in the world.
Umm last time I checked it takes longer to walk 15 miles to downtown, than it does to walk 5 feet to change a disk.

That's not very nice at all, now is it?

Disc changes have never been a problem with me, personally. 30 seconds of silence doesn't deter me from playing the game, or break immersion enough to really complain about.

Um, my guess is that the XBox 360 version will just be released on multiple discs. I don't see why this is such a big deal, nor do I find it very surprising. RPGs are infamous for being multi-disc affairs. And it's really a fairly minor inconvenience to get up off your ass every 15 hours or so to switch out a disc.

I didn't see the issue with multi-disc switching for the 360 until someone made the very valid point that you would have to switch back again if you were to go back to a previous location. Generally this happens in FF games from what I recall. When you get closer to the end, the overworld opens up and you can travel anywhere... wouldn't it be more than a little off putting to have to switch the disc when you want to travel to certain locations?

I'm just glad I have a PS3...

Edit: Oh and a comment about how RPGs are "infamous for being multi-disc affairs"... My favourite genre of game is RPG and I haven't had to swap a disc since Tales of Symphonia on the Gamecube; it's a thing of the past now.

Sweet Jesus that's a huge download.

You should only make a game multi-platform if you can properly support it on each platform. Looks like Square Enix is failing.

Honestly I wouldn't mind having 2 or 3 discs. Have you damn kiddies forgot the age of ps2 when a good JRPG would come in this huge doorstop size jewelcase and have sockets for FOUR discs?
I didn't! I pop in FFXI every now and then. That game was BIG. Four. Damn. Discs. I once thought that PS1 games would not get bigger than FFVII in terms of phsyical space taking. I was wrong.

wow...I don't like siding with either side, but some of these comments are really fully of pent up rage. Like finally something big to bash 360 owners with (at least those who play FF games). Maybe I outta put the PS3 away for a while and keep the 360 out...

disc changing isn't all that bad...
keep in mind changing them on the PS1 for FF7
didn't ruin the experience (unless FFXIII doesn't live up to its legacy...which hopefully it will!)

Think if they ever get around to making that FFVII remake, it will need multiple discs too? I never played it and am holding off playing it on my modded PSP just in case! Ha... but I don't know how long FFVII is or how many cut scenes it had.

Sorry, I know this is swerving off topic a bit...

um, isn't the 360 still HD-DVD capable? i dimly remember that being one of the selling points before that format lost the war.
