Final Fantasy XIII Will Use 100% of PS3's Power

Just because you can do something does not mean you should. If the PS3 actually has all this hidden power, then what is wrong with it being used to have things stay fast and not freeze up? I -could- prbably do alot more crunches when I work out, but doing so would exhaust me and would actually be bad, so I do enough to push me without killing me and this is fine.

WHAT?! OVER 9,000?! There's no way that can be right!

That said I eagerly look forward to FFXIII's release on the 360. Hopefully they won't dumb it down for us console-tards, as the expression goes.

I'm horribly confused with this Final Fantasy nonesense. The first two were medieval and so I gave 7 a shot because everyone said it was a blast. Two minutes in I was controlling this bear of a man with a gun for an arm through a nuclear reactor. Is this one in the future as well?
Yes. And the point of the game is to overthrow an oppressive futuristic government. Again.

Also, you can make the game as shiny as you want, but that won't solve the many other issues that will most likely plague the game.

Please, Sony have been hopelessly trying to get some groundbreaking games on it and after the completely disappointing Killzone 2, LAIR and MGS4 its only got this to redeem itself, and I am ready to see it flop.

plus why are people going on about the graphics? i've seen equal graphics on Dead or Alive 4, and if they are super graphics like they say then its going to lag like no one buisness.

Lair was awful yes, I haven't played Killzone, but MGS4? I didn't think it was a let down. It wasn't perfect of course but could you tell me why it wasn't worth playing to you?

I never liked Final Fantasy but I suppose this would be a good place to start. I just hope it proves itself to be on par with Disgaea.

Thats right 100% of the PS3 power on unskippable cut scenes! Cant wait for me to watch all of the coolest parts of this game unfold right before me and me contributing nothing at all.
Who the hell makes cutscenes unskippable nowadays?

Though it's not like you really can skip the cutscenes. Doing that can easily leave you confused, as one moment you could be on a train and then after a brief cutscene you could be suddenly fighting a giant crab demon.

Gonna be able to fry eggs on my 360 when it's running this. And by "this," I mean disc 1 of 10 that the game will come on.
Yeeahh boieee! Could I get some bacon with that?

But personally, If this is true (and that's if, hopefully it will be) we can just accept that the limits of a console have been shown. But I guess it won't stop fanboys from believing what they want, KZ2 vs Crysis proved that. I also imagine if the gap in graphical fidelity isn't large, there will be words as well.

All in all, there's going to be a shitstorm hitting when this releases. Buy a thick coat/bunker and brace for impact.

Yaaay. Not only days upon days of level-grinding, but pretty level-grinding at that.

Of course, I'll still get it. If only to listen to my 360 weeping.

Can anyone explain to me what "using 100% power" means. Does it mean it uses all the consoles ability to process or something? Like how Crysis hogged so much processing space on Low def that it would make your whole pc moot. I don't really get it.

Didn't MGS4 already do that?

The sheer amount of content and how much memory it ate up, I mean.

*sigh*

Square Enix is a solid company with a history of quality games whose only target is gaming CONSUMERS.
Even the bouncer was a quality game, even if it was a little short and boring.

So when I consider Square Enix as a business, following it's stellar track record, I can say with all confidence that however it might push the PS3 to whatever limit they believe it has, the 360 is not going to get some cheap ass bastardized hackneyed version. Square has a reputation to uphold, and even moreso on the Xbox, as this is a proving ground for them. They want to sell as many GAMES as possible, which is the reason they went multiplatform in the first place. They know that there are millions of xbox owners who also happen to like JRPG's and Final Fantasy Games, and those xbox owners equate into MILLIONS of dollars. They won't risk alienating that crowd by letting them down with a substandard port, which could have long damaging ramifications for every Square Enix title they release on that console in the future.

So that said, no matter how well it runs on the PS3, you can almost guarantee that Square Enix will spare no expense or effort to reproduce that SAME (or so close as to make any difference negligible) level of quality on the 360 version as the PS3 version.

This statement was only made and targeted at PS3 owners and fans to get them excited and produce maximum sales on that console.
I can almost promise that as the release date gets closer, they'll be making glowingly "positive" comments about how well they were able to implement the game on Microsoft's system as well, if only to assuage fears and coax millions of Xbox fan-kiddies into breaking sales records by snatching up every copy they can find.

This statement is 3 months old, albiet not as old as I thought it would be last time I saw it.

And really, there are several things about this that everyone knows anyway;

1. Everyone knows that "OVER 9000 Over 100%!" is just hype talk.
2. The PS3 version of FFXIII is going to sell better than the 360 version regardless of which has "100%" not to mention move PS3s rather than 360s.
-----a. This is mainly due to the fact that most people like the "better" version even if it is just slightly shinier windows or subtitles in english with original Japanese voiceacting.
3. This is just PR talk.

Really, does anyone believe anybody who says "We're using 100% of the powah!" when talking about the PS3? MGS4 supposedly did that, and Killzone 2 probably did something similar to it, you can only push upwards with hardware.

I know this is going to be true because the Japanese love JRPGs more than Americans ever will. And since there are 3 Ps3's to every 360 in Japan.... well, I'll let you do the math.

ArmA 2 my good man. It makes Quad Cores crumble.

Well, I'm guessing the PS3 will actually be able to run FFXIII. Though, the price of the PS3 makes it just about as accessible as Crysis.

Anyway, I can't wait to see it in action on my new 42" plasma in my room. Only like another 3 years, right?

Except a Ps3 costs just over 400 while a pc that can run Crysis well costs around a thousand.
