What? Elder scrolls has never been focussed around the story, it's about the open ended gameplay. Morrowind and Oblivion are my favourite games, but I couldn't give a rats arse about the story, it's all about the immense amounts of fun the games are.Debatra said:If you don't care about the story, why are you playing an Elder Scrolls game? That's like playing Poker for the texture of the cards.archvile93 said:Okay how many people who never cared about the lore to start with didn't just open the book, get the skill point, and then throw the book away without reading it?RhombusHatesYou said:Oblivion has 109 different skill books, each adding +1 to the skill in question the first time you read it.archvile93 said:So there's no more reason to read them in the previous games than there will be in this one, pretty much destroying the argument of the one I originally quoted.

That would look ridiculous.
I want to be able to dual wield shields.

I can see a meme coming out of this.
Trust me as someone who does care: the story makes it a lot more immersive and fun. Don't get me wrong; caring about the story came as an act of boredom, but then I realized how much I was missing.WrongSprite said:What? Mounted combat only really works in games like Mount and Blade where most of the fighting takes place on big open battlefields. It's pretty pointless for a dungeon crawl game like Oblivion.Poopster said:no news about mounted combat? like in mount and blade?

New engine was already mentioned the day the Skyrim trailer was released. The Gentleman said:But I didn't hear what I wanted to hear: new engine?
Oblivion isn't a dungeon crawl game. It would probably be improved if every dungeon was removed.CD-R said:Mounted combat only really works in games like Mount and Blade where most of the fighting takes place on big open battlefields.
