People actually care about Fox News? ...Really? How can a person with any modicum of intelligence take anything said on Fox News seriously?

I can't help but feel as if anyone watching that would immediately recognise who's the one who's actually talking sense and intelligence, while telling that the other one just sounds like a blumbering idiot spilling out a bunch of unconfirmed junk REALLY LOUDLY, but then I might have too much faith in humanity.

Just do what I do, watch it with the mindset that it's all just one big joke.
Seriously, did Fox even research this? Or did they just hear "Video games are art and will receive grant money" and then make crazy assumptions about it?

I am now convinced that FOX news are not idiots and are in fact GENIUSES.

I mean...Look at this master plan.

Step 1: Find news story/issue that will generate lots of attention
Step 2: Find a way to pervert this story and spread nonsense so people will get riled up.
Step 3: Find someone who BELIEVES the twisted version of the story and have them yell it at someone that knows it's false.
Step 4: Make sure the nutjob is heard louder, or discredit the smart guy (or turn down his mic volume or something)
Step 5: Laugh and watch the profits reel in as lots of people tune in, either for it or against it.
Step 6: DO IT ALL OVER AGAIN NEXT WEEK!

That is easy money IN. THE. BAG!

Now if only we could prove this, and get them shut down for fraud....

Either that, or I want to see an article that says MLP is secretly a far-left political plan to turn everyone into homosexuals. ...I mean, I want to see them justify THAT! I don't think they can. If they DO pull that off, I hereby vow to change my avatar (here and on facebook) to a pony picture of someone's choice for a whole 2 weeks!

Man, fox will do anything to take a stab at the Obama administration. it's really sad how low they'll sink, when you think about it.

Dear Fox News. I think I speak for all people of rational thinking and common sense when I say:

My sentiments exactly.

FOX News, go fuck yourselves.
Nah. I blame the people who own/run the studio more than the studio itself for this mess. Namely, Rupert Murdoch and News Corp.

If the studio was under different ownership, I doubt these intentional screw-ups would be as big an issue anymore.

Knowing Fox, this probably has less to do with being anti-videogame and more to do with trying to convince people that cutting "Liberal" gubbermint programs like the NEA is a better idea for reducing the deficit than touching the engorged defense/social security budget or taxing the rich.
Yep. That's what it's really about. The NEA's been on their hit-list for decades. For funding stuff like the artist who depicting the Virgin Mary covered with doo-doo. The right-wing don't like that kinda stuff. Mess with Jesus in your art, and it's on like Donkey Kong.

And this is why FoxNews is still well and healthy. We're all feeding trolls here. They're not stupid. They just don't care and use the controversy as a (successful) marketing strategy. I know plenty of people that aren't interested in serious news because they're boring, so they instead watch sensational news, have a good laugh without caring about the world as a whole and then get wasted and forget everything the next day.

FOX News is run by ignorant idiots who refuse to believe that gaming is anything but a kids toy.

Hmm... wow, yeah that's pretty bad.

Although I STILL have to say, the gaming community goes out with a prejudiced, emotional objective to rip on Fox News and make them look bad than the worst of Newspeople do when they go out with a prejudiced, emotional objective to rip on video games and make them look bad.

Thing is, Fox almost always has the several people who have shows say both (or all three, ext) sides/views on a situation. What websites like TheEscapist do wrong is that they only bring up the side that is wrong/stupid/that they disagree with and say "Fox news did it!" They can take every issue Fox has ever covered and pretend like only the stupid one exists. And that, you see, THAT is what fuels gamers' irrational hatred for the network. Is it ultra-right wing? Well, yes and no, it's centrist; it shows both sides of most issues, and it's right-wing COMPARED to the other networks, which are liberal as all hell. It's just how fame and show-business works; it makes you liberal, almost every time.

How is this news? Fox News has a ludicrous made-up story about something every single day. They are habitual truth-stretchers, and we should, as an intelligent society, stop watching them and helping them spread more hate-filled lies.

Edit: On second thought, maybe that "intelligent society" bit is wishful thinking. They are still on the air after all.

Well, Fox news is right on this one. I mean, look at the story of any mainstream game, like mass effect 2, which gamers gobble up like it was the urine of Jesus himself. In the literary world it would classify as pulp, and in the movie world it would classify as a B-movie. While I suppose an artistic video game is theoretically possible, it sure as hell hasn't happened yet, mainly because of gamers being young, uncultured and whiny.

This has as much in common with an honest debate as a bear-baiting.

For the first thirty seconds of a four minute clip we see nothing but the most violent portions of Call of Duty. Throughout the report, Call of Duty, Super Mario Bros. and Street Fighter IV (none of which would be subject to the grants) are highlighted on screen, even as the grants' defender is speaking. The host of the so-called debate pitches hostile questions at one side and allows the other to respond in any way they choose.

This is not honest. This is not a debate. If you think it is, you are wrong.

If the subject they want to address is whether any form of art or entertainment should be getting government funding, then using this issue as a straw man to spearhead that point is also misleading and dishonest, and certainly ought to be beneath an outfit that describes itself as a news agency.

I noticed several fundamental flaws when Fox created this segment:

1. They refer to Black Ops simply as "Call of Duty" when in fact the first Call of Duty game came out nearly 10 years ago. Kinda hard to give federal grants for products that have already been produced.

2. Despite Mr. Ambrozy's constant assertion that "Call of Duty" would not receieve federal funding, they kept showing the same segements.

3. What the fuck is Street Fighet IV on the 3DS doing there?

Aye. These people really don't know jack shit about gaming do they?
