At the 0:58 mark in the video, the video games blogger corrected the facts. After that, no one mentioned the words "Call of Duty". I agree that FNC should have done a little more to research what they were talking about, but at least they didn't keep banging on a point that was already called out as BS
So it's okay that they did absolutely zero research prior, that they just slapped that crap up there and then hastily glossed over once they were revealed to be moronic? Fox News regularly distorts the truth, and won a court case saying they were allowed to blatantly lie on the air. They've never done a report on the good side of video games, or how the video game business is booming and creating jobs, or anything positive towards games.

And if you really want to pretend that they don't slant against video games at all, I dare you to read up on the Bulletstorm fiasco.

Also, it's not them being fair and balanced if they bring on some psycho to slam video games. They could have picked a genuine voice with genuine concerns, but they chose the crazy person because they want ratings. They pander to the far right with literally every tiny thing that they do. It's nearly disgusting how desperately you've been defending them as being fair and balanced. Their only purpose is to grab high ratings, and they get their ratings by pandering to uneducated right wing loons.

My source on this? My parents watch nothing but Fox News. My mom watches it from 9 AM to 10 PM EVERY SINGLE DAY. I hear their bullshit filtering through to my room every day that I'm not working or on campus. In the past five years I have only ever heard four things that weren't either completely wrong or completely offensive. That is not an exaggeration. That channel is so offensively -wrong- at every turn that it is appalling for any logical human being to defend them. There's no excuse for it.

if you watch the video both sides make good points, except FOX itself. FOX start about COD and GTA, but when the guy from art side said that those games don't deserve money, he juist proved that FOX again doens't know what they are talking about. the guy who is against the 'giving the games money thing' does make some good points, but points not related with the games on their own, but with the economic state of the USA. so the only one who are crying about games is FOX itself.

OMG stop the presses. "The intent of the segment seems as if it was meant to take a dig at the current leaders of the U.S. government using factually incorrect information and an over-animated critic, rather than a look at what's actually occurring in reality."

That doesn't sound like what they do all the fucking time!

Fox news is crap and everything they do is to manipulate people, often with inaccuracies or direct hypocrisy. Can we please just stop caring and reserve the things that fox news says for jokes.

Fox didn't do anything wrong, they had a debate. Your ire should be directed at the dude who was arguing against video games as art, not FNC itself.
They set up the debate so the guy opposing video games would ignore every point the other guy made. Fox is just as much at fault for this as that asshole radio guy.
They set up the debate so people could hear a different point of view. The dude from FNC never took a side, as good reporters don't. Stop blaming Fox for reporting the news in an honest way
Honest? How is segueing into the story with clips from CoD and using it to frame the story, and not once ever showing clips or even really mentioning anything at all that could be suitable for NEA funds? The only game they show in any clip is one of the most violent and profitable on the market. It's completely counter to the intent of allowing NEA funding for games projects.

It's pure sensationalist garbage, not fair journalism, whether or not the anchor in question is passively engaged in the debate.

Fox news reporting in an honest way? Can I live in your world?
You should definitely come over sometime. Especially on Casual Fridays.
Cool! I love wearing Casual clothing. Although i'm not a fan of jeans they are just too tight and i'm not fashionably aware so I don't feel cool wearing them either.

Are there not laws preventing a TV show which is designed to be watched by everyone playing clips from an M rated media?

Also I think that the fat guy should have mentioned that games have evolved far from being comparable to Ping Pong to being closer to interactive movies.

It seemed more like it was a dig on the federal government than anything else. It was playing less on people's hate for video games and more on "daaaaw dah federal goverment is so stupad".

But still, the network obviously knew that games like Call of Duty wouldn't fall under the criteria for federal funding. Not to mention that THERE HAVE ALREADY BEEN GAMES LIKE CALL OF DUTY FUNDED WITH FEDERAL MONEY. They're called FUCKING AMERICA'S ARMY. And yet those same people had no problem with that...

But this is Fox. Not surprising in the least.

Why won't people understand how easy it is to solve problems with assasination?
I laughed. Well done sir.
I was being semi-serious.
I don't think anyone was doubting that.
Okay than.

Seriously though, there has got to be at least one rich guy with connections that hates fox news.

If i was rich a rich guy with connections lot's of people who cause problems would be dying.
Hell, let's just get the Assassin's Guild on it. Fox News is OBVIOUSLY a front for Abstergo and the Templars.

Watched the video and wanted to punch a TALK SHOW RADIO HOST

YES A TALK SHOW RADIO HOST: someone who blabs their own opinion to everyone everyday who does not have a single bloody background in the area, and asking them to debate it.

Watching it, it seems like the other guy was concerned about "raising taxes" I'm no genius about the economy but im sure the NEA has a certain budget given to them by the Federal government and they evenly distribute that among the artistic community, not the bullshit that guy was spouting...

I think the only side that made a poor showing of themselves was the FOX News anchor. The radio host made multiple valid points and most of the points he made I agree with. The US government IS being immensely wasteful and we should be focusing on how to cut spending rather than raising taxes.
